Haibun: My Shooting Stars
The pages of my notebook have become my soft, eternal night, and the words off my pen fall unto them like shooting stars across the night skies. And my shooting stars, they wait for me to wish my dreams upon their exquisite wings. And my lovely words, they glow in silver hazes when they are etched as lines of a moonlit love within the slight, fragile skies of pages. But mercurial by nature; they also burn in the brightest bronze of fire when forged are words of iron wills and malicious desires. Yet, always...always my words, in whichever colour they fall, fall along the softest of sighs...like a lover's breath upon my neck among a storm ridden night. And for the ample treasures and secret pleasures they give; I clutch the consonants of my words as if they were my very soul, and adorn their vowels within my spirit, as my eyes adorn deep lines of coal black kohl...
My knightly words,
Ever honest you are,
Never drop me from your wings.
