Side Chapter 2: 5 Years On Gills! A New Level Beyond Super Saiyan!?

THIS CHAPTER TAKES PLACE IN THE TIME PERIOD FROM THE END OF CHAPTER 1 TO THE BEGINNING OF CHAPTER  3. IT FOLLOWS WHAT NICO DOES DURING CHAPTER 2 AND THE FIVE YEAR TIME SKIP AFTER CHAPTER 2.

When Nico went down the hill after talking to the mysterious Kai known as Khai, he found the cottage that the Kai had mentioned before he disappeared. When the young Saiyan opened the door, he was greeted with some relief and happiness in his time of sorrow. Nico opened the door to find his family inside, mourning the loss of their people. When they heard the door open, they all looked up to see who it was at the door. Nico then says with joy filling his heart, "You guys are alive?! How did you survive?! I'm really damn happy about this, but I just don't understand. No one could have survived that! The whole planet was destroyed!" Barku gets up from the table he's sitting at with Faye and says, "By the cosmos, Nico is that you? Why do you look like that? You look like you've been through hell! And what's going on with your hair? Why is it yellow? Wait?!" Nico completely forgot that he was still a Super Saiyan, he pulled his hair down to see that it was indeed still that fluffy yellow just as it was on the hill, and as it was on New Moon. Barku walks up to Nico and examines him closely, "You're a Super Saiyan aren't you?! Son, you've become the Legendary Super Saiyan of myth! No wonder you survived! Though it doesn't explain why your clothes are so ripped up though. What kind of trouble did you get into before New Moon bit the dust?" Nico then sits down and explains everything that happened when he left home to go to school that day. Barku, Faye, Tarle, and Nida all listened very closely as Nico explained. Nico finally finished up, "...and so the next thing I knew I woke up here on a hill just a little bit of a ways away from here. Some guy named Khai, I think that was his name anyways that conversation went by really quickly, he explained to me that he was able to save me but not everyone else. He also said that I need not worry, that I haven't lost everything" Barku does some thinking and says, "So you met him as well then. He came to us before the night ended, we've been here for a while actually. That Khai guy explained to us that you'd be returning to us soon enough, but I wasn't expecting this! I can't believe that our very own king would lie to us like that. From the way you described it, it sounded like he went down without even putting up a fight. Dammit. That's not what I'm concerned about though. I'm glad you're safe Nico, and now you're here with us. For all we know, we could be the last of the Saiyans left alive. We need to make the most of our lives while we have them! And Nico, I'm sorry about what happened to Zuna...I know she meant a lot to you. I'm sure you'll get to see her again. I know it" Nico then stands up and says, "I don't think we're the last ones alive. I know more of us got off planet. I just know it! Like Moonlight, the king's daughter, she was off planet because of some accident that happened if I'm correct. Enough of that though, first things first, I need to figure out this form, this might take some getting used to. I really need to get this under a wrap though because my body is killing me right now" Barku and Faye look at Nico for a short minute and Barku says, "No, I don't want you doing anything right now besides resting! Son, you've done more than enough for yourself and our people, I'm sure they couldn't be more proud if they were able to see you now. As your father though, I'm going to say now that you will rest for at least a day before you do anything training wise!" Nico goes silent for a minute, pondering on what to do. He finally gets himself to agree and says, "Okay fine, one day and that's it. After that, I'm going to train my absolute hardest to avenge our people! That pink monster will pay for what he did!" After saying this, Nico staggers for a moment and almost falls over since his body is finally starting to become more relaxed after the night that passed just a few hours ago. Barku looks to Tarle and says, "Tarle, take your brother to the room we prepared for him! Hurry before he passes out!" Tarle gets up immediately and helps Nico put his arm over his shoulder. Tarle takes Nico to his own room that was waiting for him. Nida looks over to Faye and Barku and says, "Mom, dad? Is big brother gonna be okay?" Barku looks to Nida with a smile and says, "Yes Nida, he's gonna be fine okay? He just needs some rest, he's had a long night. A really long night" Tarle comes back into the room and says calmly, "He passed out as soon as I put him down in the bed. I think he's gonna be out for more than a day honestly" Barku looks at Tarle and sits down, Barku says, "It doesn't matter how long he stays down for, we need to make sure that he gets through this okay. He's had a rough night, worse than we could possibly imagine. All we can do is support him in anyway we can!" As everyone slowly starts to calm down since Nico got home, Barku starts thinking to himself, "That guy he was talking about, Khai. I still can't wrap my head around what he said. Maybe what he said wasn't for anyone but Nico to understand. Maybe it's for the best that only he understands it though" After saying that, Barku goes into the kitchen to find something to eat.
