Was That Fateful Night Really To Be The End? What Sorrows Await In Otherworld?

SIDE CHAPTER 1 TAKES PLACE BETWEEN CHAPTER 1 AND CHAPTER 2

TO AVOID CONFUSION WITH WHAT A "SIDE CHAPTER" IS, IT'S BASICALLY THINGS THAT HAPPEN BEHIND THE SCENES THAT NORMALLY WOULDN'T BE SHOWN DURING FULL STORY DEVELOPMENT, BUT I (NICO) THOUGHT THAT IT WOULD BE REALLY NICE TO SEE WHAT'S GOING ON BEHIND THE MAIN STORY WHERE EVERYTHING ELSE IS HAPPENING. THESE SIDE CHAPTERS ARE CANON, THEY ARE REAL, AND WILL IN SOME WAY CONTRIBUTE TO THE STORY WHETHER IT BE MAJOR OR MINOR. I (NICO) CREATE THESE TO EXPLAIN THINGS THAT MAY SEEM SUDDEN IN THE MAIN STORY AND SHOW UP WITHOUT EXPLANATION. HOPEFULLY THIS MESSAGE HELPS... Enjoy!!!!

It felt like forever, the darkness that surrounded her. She didn't know what fate awaited her. Her fate was something she didn't even see coming. It all happened so fast. Nico was fighting Av with everything he had to defend those he loved, but he wasn't enough on his own to defeat Av. Av overpowered Nico within minutes and eventually had him in the corner. Av slammed Nico up against a rock almost knocking him completely unconscious. Things seemed grim for our young Saiyan. Then out of the corner of Nico's eye, he saw Zuna and Devin exiting the school with all of the surviving students. Nico then looked up to Av with a smile across his face and began giving a speech about how he would win with the help of his friends. While Nico was doing this, over at the school Zuna and Devin were trying to keep all the students in order. Zuna says with worry in her voice, "Come on everyone! We need to get out of here! You want to survive right?! Follow me and Devin over here and you'll be able to get away!" All of the students were still freaked out and were trying their best to follow the orders being fed to them. Devin says terrified, "Zuna, I don't mean to be the bearer of bad news, but it looks like Nico isn't doing too good over there! If he gets taken out, they'll come for us for sure!" Zuna snaps at Devin, "NO! He won't lose! He can't... I know he can't. I'm sorry Devin, things are just really tense and I'm trying to keep hopeful, please don't take that hope from me" she begins to cry slightly and looks towards where Nico is. Devin then says, "Listen, I'm sorry Zuna, I didn't mean anything bad by that. I'm just as much under pressure as you are. We all are, but you're the only one strong enough to lead us out of here! And besides, you're high class, you'll have easier access to get off the planet then us!" Just as Zuna goes to says something back to Devin, she pauses as she hears Av barking orders to his troops. Instinctual fear runs over Zuna and Devin as they see two soldiers with high battle powers fly up and start approaching them. Zuna darts her head to the students and yells out, "Alright everyone!! Get ready no matter how strong you are!! There are two very powerful soldiers coming our way! It'll take everything we have to take these two down!! Get ready!!!" All of the students assume several battle poses as they prepare for the oncoming soldiers. Zuna and Devin stand in front of the crowd of students and get ready for what's coming. Zuna looks to where Nico and Av are to see that Av has Nico on the floor, facing towards herself and the other students. She holds her hand to her heart and closes her eyes. Zuna says to herself, "I'll do this if not for myself then for you Nico!" She opens her eyes and gets ready to fight, just as she's about to fly towards the soldiers, she stops short. She's shot with fear as both of the soldiers hit the floor, dead. She looks around and even Devin is completely lost as to what's happening. All of the students begin to panic horribly. Devin looks at Zuna and says, "This isn't good. Something bad is coming. Something really bad!" Devin starts freaking out under the pressure that the situation has presented. Zuna is standing there trying to figure out what's going, suddenly a strange pink creature appears before her. "WHAT THE FU-" Zuna gets cut short before suddenly the pink creature raises his hand and shoots a massive Ki Blast at Zuna and the other Students. Zuna was blown backwards into some debris of the school when the creature shot his blast off. As she lays in the debris, Zuna looks around for the other students, but can't find anyone. Everyone else had perished, she was the last remaining of that group. As Zuna lay there covered in blood, and barely able to move, says softly and sadly, "n..nico" Zuna slowly starts to fade off as the creature appears above the school and throws another Ki Blast down to the school, setting off the second explosion. As the dust finally settled, all that was left was a piece of fabric left from Zuna's clothes. Soon after defeating Av, Nico would walk over to the school to see what he could find in the debris. After looking for a moment, Nico finds a piece of fabric from her clothes. He ties it around his arm and turns his head to finish what had been started. Soon Nico's look of anger turns to shock. Everything goes black. It all feels like it's been such a long time, an eternity in fact. A golden light floods into the darkness, as if one soul was resonating with another. Suddenly, from the golden light, Zuna gasps and opens her eyes and yells out, "Nico! Huh? Wait, where am I?" What's going on?" As she stands on this long platform behind what could be hundreds, if not thousands of other people. She looks on in total confusion and just falls in line with the others. After what feels like hours, Zuna finally reaches the building at the end of the path. She is confronted by a very large and dark blue man. He's absolutely huge in comparison to any person she had ever seen before. The giant man looks down at Zuna and says, "Oh my, it looks like there are still more of you coming in! I thought all of you Saiyans were already here! I suppose odd things are to happen from time to time! Hohoho!" Zuna steps back slightly and says, "Oh, uh, you said all of the Saiyans? Does that mean that we all survived?" The giant man looks down at Zuna sadly and says, "Unfortunately, your race didn't survive. You must be confused still. I'm sorry for your loss, young one. I don't know the full details on what happened, but it was basically an extinction level event. Pretty much every last one of you was wiped from the universe. Well, all of you except for those off planet of course!" Zuna with a look of horror says, "no way. all of us? Can't you tell me more?!" The giant man says, "No, I can't tell you more right now young one. As you can see, I have a lot of souls to sort out including yours, but I can see that want for more answers in your eyes. I'll let you in on some info, talk to my assistant here, his name is Neketh. He'll fill you in on some things you should know while you're here. When he's done talking to you, come back to me and tell me whether or not you wish to continue on! Oh, and by the way, my name is Yemae! Now get along, I have work to do '' Zuna looked to the side of Yemae's desk and saw a smaller light blue man that couldn't have been more than four feet tall. Zuna asks trying to keep her emotions in check, "Are you Neketh?" Neketh says, "Yes, I am Neketh, and assuming from what I heard here, Yemae wants me to enlist you in the program" Zuna says confused, "What program?" Neketh says, "Follow me, and I shall explain '' Zuna begins to follow Neketh down a long hallway that looks as if it goes on forever. Neketh then stops and turns to Zuna, "Okay, let me explain the program to you! I think you'll be quite happy to hear about this! Especially considering you're a Saiyan after all!" Zuna is unresponsive, as she stands there staring at the ground. Neketh isn't sure what's going on and he asks, "Ms. Zuna? Are you okay? Do you need some sort of refreshment?" As he asks this, a tear hits the ground. Zuna is stood there with her head down in defeat as she ponders on her race's extinction, "dammit, if I could have only helped him, Nico would still be alive. they would all be alive if only I could've helped" Zuna starts shaking and Neketh starts to back up to ensure he doesn't get harmed. Zuna's tears begin to fall even more than they were before. She stumbles around a bit before she lifts her head up and her eyes have gone blank. Zuna's sad expression had turned into anger, not pure anger, but sorrow and regret filled anger. As her eyes had gone blank, her hair had stood straight up as well, but more than normal for someone undergoing this transformation. Something was wrong, Zuna was going past a normal barrier. As she stood there being controlled by her anger, electricity sparked up all around her body as her hair kept getting more elongated. Eventually the hair growth stopped, and she let out a huge burst of energy into the hallway filling it with that golden light. Even Yemae could see the light radiating out of the hallway, "What the hell is going on down there?!" As the light finally settled, there she stood, Zuna assumed the form of what appeared to be a Super Saiyan 2?! As she stood there with electricity pulsing around her body, her eyes were still blanked out. She seemed like she was about to let out even more power when suddenly, she hit the floor, and her power faded out of her body. Zuna's hair fell back down to a jet black as she lay on the floor, and the electricity was expelled from her body. The power was way too much for her body to handle. Neketh was blown back, literally. He stood there with his hair blown back from the raw energy he just got hit with. He's completely shocked, Neketh then realizes that Zuna is out cold. Neketh calls for another assistant of Yemae to help out. An assistant comes out shortly after Neketh calls, she runs over quick and asks, "What happened with her? Is she okay?" Neketh is still shocked, "Yes, she's fine, I think. I actually don't know. Her race is quite an intriguing one. Take her to one of the rooms, I'm gonna enlist her in the program as soon as possible. With the power she just displayed there, I don't think there's anyone here that could beat her in the tournament!" The female assistant then nods to Neketh and picks Zuna up and takes her to a room to get her rested up. A few hours pass and soon Zuna awakes in a dark room. "Agh, what the hell happened? My head hurts so bad right now. All I remember is getting really upset and then blacking out. Nevermind that though, where the hell am I? I mean, it's kind of weird that I'm in such a nice bed. Especially considering the fact that I'm dead. Wait" Zuna perks up at the thought that the death of her and the rest of the Saiyans must have been a really bad nightmare. She checks above her head to see if her halo is still there. Unfortunately, she finds that her death and all the others were very real. She lays back down in defeat, wondering what to do since she might never see Nico again. The assistant girl walks into the room and turns on a dim light not to bother Zuna. Zuna sits up and looks at the girl, "Hey, I don't know you? At least I don't think I do. Who are you?" The girl looks surprised that Zuna is awake, but still responds, "My name is Rena if you're still curious, that is, and I am not surprised that you don't know me. You were out cold when I first saw you" Zuna then says still unsure of what happened and says, "Wait, speaking of that, what did happen? All I remember was blacking out when I started thinking about what happened to my people" Rena then looks at Zuna and says, "Well, that I'm also surprised about. Since you really don't seem to remember, I'll tell you what happened!" After a few minutes of Rena explaining what happened to Zuna, Zuna finally gets up out of the bed and says, "I really turned into a Super Saiyan? The Golden Warrior? How? I thought it was just supposed to be a legend. Maybe that's what that golden light I felt was before I woke up here. Where did that golden light go though? It wasn't my energy that I felt in that black space. But even if I'm a Super Saiyan, that doesn't change what happened to my people! The ones I loved, and everyone else that suffered that night. It doesn't change that at all!" Zuna is visibly upset and Rena quickly says, "Don't worry Zuna!" Zuna snaps out of it and says, "Okay, what? Why shouldn't I worry?" Rena then explains, "Well, I was there when all of the Saiyans came through. There were so many of you that Yemae needed my help listing them all off. Not all of you perished" Zuna's eyes widened upon hearing this, "I knew it! I knew all of us couldn't be killed, do you know who all survived?! I mean, I know there were some off world, but there's no way all of the people on the planet died!" Rena then continues to explain, "You were the last one that came in, you were quite late in fact. To tell you the truth, though I can't remember all the names of those who perished. It's been a while since I've seen the list and I'm not exactly allowed to go through Yemae's stuff" Zuna then says, "Dammit, okay, um. Did a Saiyan by the name of Nico come through the line? He's about fifteen years old, almost six feet tall, crazy wavy hair? Come on please, I need to know!" Zuna is up in Rena's face, her eyes watering. Rena says thinking, "Hmmm, now that you mention it, we haven't had any young fellows like that come through, looks like this kid you're looking for got off lucky somehow. Is he important to you? I mean, there were millions of you that came through, but you seem to only really care about this one boy" Zuna says sadly, "Well, don't get me wrong, I'm really worried about where my parents ended up, as well as Devin, and Moonlight. But Nico is, well, he was everything to me. I mean, I cared about him more than anyone I've ever met. Truly. You said he didn't come through though! That means he's alive! I wish I was there to see him beat Av though, that bastard. What happened to Av?" Rena then says upset, "Oh yes, we know about that Av guy, while we wanted to throw that little bastard in hell we couldn't. He enlisted in the program and that means that we can't throw him down unless we catch him doing something bad." Zuna then says angrily, "Dammit, I knew Nico defeated him, but I was hoping hell would claim him. So, what's all this program talk that I keep hearing about?" Rena then says surprised, "Oh, Neketh never told you? That's odd, I thought he would have by now. Okay, to explain the whole program. Every year or so, we hold an Otherworld Tournament to see who the strongest fighter in Otherworld is. It may not seem very significant as a title, but it comes with a perk. If you get that title and win the Tournament, you also get your life back" Zuna looks at Rena with wide eyes and says, "SERIOUSLY?!?" Rena then says, "Yes, seriously haha. It'll be a really good way for you to see that boy you care about so much! But I will warn you, there are some seriously strong fighters, and not all of them are exactly the nicest people. So, they won't be too kind to you, no matter who you are, especially considering the prize for the tournament. You'll definitely need that power you demonstrated earlier to put up a good fight though! You can still do that right? There was so much energy flowing off of you!" Zuna then stands up and says, "I don't know, remember, I blanked out during that whole situation. I can try though" Zuna begins to charge up her energy in the small room, Rena is a littler Nervous as the room is quite small. Zuna starts to charge up a huge amount of energy, as much as she can, while she's charging, the room flashes yellow for just a moment, but returns to normal. Zuna then drops to her knees and pants as if her breath just left her completely. Rena then says, "Well, that was it? I think anyway. I mean, when I saw you in the hallway, the yellow hair lasted a lot longer than that" Zuna then stands back up catching her breath, "Damn, I guess I really can't do it. At least not yet anyways. I'm not sure what would be able to push me that hard again. I mean, I'm thinking about everything that happened to my people, but knowing that Nico is okay, I just can't get angry anymore. Damn" Rena, amazed by the young Saiyan female says, "Well, I'm not sure what else to tell you. Oh, that's right! If you wish to train for the tournament, there's a room that isn't far from here where all the other tournament fighters will be training. Come on! I'll show you where it is, and then you can start training to see that Nico guy again!" Zuna stays in the room for a moment as Rena leaves the room, "I really hope so Rena, I really do" Zuna gets up and then smiles and runs out of the room to follow her.
