"That was-wow." Grady sighed as he started driving again, a blush visible on his face by the passing street lights, "Guess now is the time to tell you I like you."
There was a short pause until Ian busted laughing.
"How long for you?" Grady asked, turning turning onto a different street.
"Since I found you sleeping in my bed."
It was Grady's turn to laugh like a hyena.
"Oh yeah, and what about you mister?" Ian retorted.
Grady quieted down and mumbled.
"I can't hear you."
"From that moment you walked into that bar. I was tuning my guitar and I looked up to see an attractive scruffy beared man in a tight as hell shirt, okay?"
"You know, you should sing for me sometime...if you want of course." Ian said, slowly pulling away from the conversation. He knew it was going to get awkward fast.
The jeep parked in front of the coffee shop and went inside, the cold air hitting hard. Before Grady could even speak, Ian had already told the bartista Grady's usual order. A chocolate chip frapaccino with extra whipped creme. Grady felt a blush rise to his cheeks but turned away to hide it. The bartista went to work and Ian took Grafy's hand and sat down at a booth.
Silence passed and before long Ian went up when his name was called to get the drinks. He paid the bartista and took the two cups of coffee. the silence began to turn into awkward tension, it would have become even mpre uncomfortable, but Grady spoke up.
"What are we?"
Ian ran a hand over his five o'clock shadow," i'm not sure, im still new on this whole liking a guy thing. I never thought it would happen, but here we are at nine at night drinking coffee and holding hands. " he smiled.
Grady returned the smile, "so want to come to the bar on Saturday? I got another gig that night, but dude we can go do something in town afterwards? Maybe catch a movie? "
" Sounds great."
