If it was a child of Roger Snyder, of course there would be a huge party. Ian drove the car as Grady wriggled in his seat trying to adjust his suit. Last time he wore such an abomination was to his junior prom in which the jocks decided to throw a bowl of punch onto the boy's tux. Let's just say after that Grady didn't go to another party until now.
"How, much longer do I have to be in this suit?" he whined.
" Haven't even gotten to the party yet and you want to take it off." Ian laughed, as he finally pulled into his father's drive. Other cars lined the street and from it you could hear music from the pool.
"Now I'm warning you ahead of time, my father is a bit of an uptight dick James Bond." Ian said with a straight face.
Grady just laughed and got out of the car. Ian followed in pursuit and locked the car. They walked up to the house and was greeted by caterers and men in suits and women in too short of dresses and the thick smell of colones and perfumes. Ian's father stood in the middle of the room with James, Ian's step brother.
"Ah, Ian my boy glad you could make it." A man in a navy blue suit said, a glass of wine in his hand.
"Nice to see you too dad." Ian said irritably.
"Whose this young man?" his father asked, gesturing to Grady.
"Grady Parker sir, it's nice to meet you. I am friend of your son." he said politely, shaking Mr. Snyder's hand.
Ian walked away to score a few drinks before the night got worse, once his father had met Grady.
"You never told us you had a boyfriend." James mocked, getting a glass of punch, most likely spiked.
"Im not gay James, and even if i was, it's not of your concern thank you." and with that he grabbed a bottle of wine and sat down where he would not be visible.
Twenty minutes later Grady had found him, Ian barely drinking the bottle at this point, but more of people watching.
" What's wrong?" Grady asked, sitting down next to him.
" I fucking hate parties, dad always took them too far." Ian said, offering Grady a drink regardless of him being underage.
Grady obliged and took a sip before making a scrunched up face. " Ew! What the hell is that?"
Ian laughed for once and sat back and watched everyone talking, drinking, or dancing.
"Hey do you want to get out of here?" Grady asked.
"Never thought you'd ask." Ian replied, getting up and showing Grady out back to a gazebo where they proceeded to drink and talk about funny times or how much they hate certain people. From the gazebo the sounds of a familiar pop song played in a ballad manor ever so beautifully on the piano.
"Care to dance?" Ian hiccuped.
"Why not?" Grady smiled, wrapping his arms around Ian's neck as his around his waist. Grady moved in closer and mumbled the words to the song.
It's late in the evening
Glass on the side
I've been sat with you
For most of the night
Ignoring everybody here
We wish they would disappear
So maybe we could get down now....
Grady backed up a little and by now looked drunkenly into Ian's eyes.
don't wanna know
If you're getting ahead of the program
I want you to be mine, baby
To hold your body close
Take another step into the no-man's land
For the longest time baby....
With neither of them knowing they both leaned in. Chapped lips touched.
