To think it was the same place he was talked into going those long weeks ago. The same bloody bar that his friend worked at with its expensive drinks and amateur bands played. He had never thought he'd be back here.

"So, you couldn't keep away from my beautiful face, huh?" Matt joked as he cleaned a wine glass from the bar.

"More like I drove here for some lame excuse to drown you in my problems." Ian replied.

"What's wrong toots?"  Matt said placing the glass on the bar.

"I kissed him!" Ian groaned, hiding his face with his hands.

"Who, California? Didn't know you finally made a move.. Kid has been after you since he talked to you here. I thought the two of you were adorbs."

"Matt you're not helping, what should I do?"

Matt leaned in, " Well did you like it?"

Ian couldn't say he didn't because that would have been a lie, and the way he woke up the next morning so comfy just made him want that again and again.

"Look, Ian I love you and all and as best friend, I say go for it. There is nothing wrong with testing the waters."

"Sometimes it's hard to believe you are straight." Ian laughed.

That night he found himself in front of Grady's apartment with a bouquet of flowers. He reached out with his free hands and knocked on the door.

The door opened up, " I told her that was a - oh hey Scott I'm going to have to call you later." Grady said  hanging up his phone.

Ian's mind started to scream abort, but he still stood there.

"Hey, uh, come on in dude." Grady said, inviting him in.

Ian walked  in rather hesitant and handed him the flowers without saying anything.

"Sorry it's a mess, I haven't gotten around to cleaning it yet. Hey are you okay?" Grady asked looking at Ian's pale face. " Come on, lets go get some coffee and you can tell me about it okay?"

Grady closed the door and went to put the flowers away in a vase of water, or in this case a glass. Grady returned with the keys to his jeep and walked out of the door with Ian in tow. Grady locked the door and soon they went down to the jeep.

"You know it is a bit strange for you to show up at my house, usually its the other way around. Buddy are you okay? you look kind of pale."

Ian just nodded in silence as Grady started to drive to the closest coffee shop that was still open this late. The jeep stopped at a red light.

"Look we can go home if you-" Grady was soon interrupted by the feeling of five o'clock shadow and slightly chapped lips.

Their moment was soon intruded by honking of cars behind them.
