Chapter 44

Both of us rode inside the forest which belonged to Victorian herself. For a 14-year-old to owned a forest like this, she must have been loved by her dad. Of course, the forest was so peaceful that I don't have to worry about enemies attacking...or so I thought. 

Why is there a big saber-tooth tiger here..? The big carnivore sleeps calmly under a tree shade. Victorian hopped off her horse and walked to the sleeping beast. 

"Tomato...Tomato...wake up! I am here to visit you yet you're still sleeping, you dummy!"

The tiger's ears perked up and both of his eyes open up like jewels under the moon. The tiger hopped on Victorian and licks her, playfully. Just what the hell is wrong with everyone here in this empire? 

"This is Tomato, my pet. This is Stella, the princess from the other Half and the other empire." Victorian introduced me to her pet. The tiger came up to me and lick my hand. His name is Tomato...I can see why some people said Victorian is no different from her father now. 

"Is he a gift from your father...?" I said without energy.

"No, I found him injured when he was just a cub. Tomato is a really powerful tiger. He fought with his disease when he was a cub. I thought he was going to die young at that time." Victorian pet Tomato and kisses him.

Sometimes, a friendship with your pet is much more wonderful than a friendship with a human.

"I brought food with us. Why don't we settle under that tree?" I pointed to a big tree with yellow flowers blooming from it.

"Yes!"

We both settle down and enjoy the delicious sandwiches under the tree. The smell of the flowers makes me calm down. An unfamiliar lavender scent made me stand up. I don't see lavender flowers anywhere here.

"Stella?" Victorian said between bites.

"I thought I smelled the scent of lavender around here. I guess it's my imagination..."

"Woah! You can smell the lavender flowers even though I put barrier spell around the field?!!" Victorian, excitedly said.

Eh?! Barrier spell?

Victorian quickly shoved her sandwich into her mouth, grabbed my hand and pulled me somewhere.

We walked about 5 minutes from our spot, and Victorian cleared out the bush.

"Wow..."

A lavender flower field, it's so big!! I walked around until I reached a cliff. There are many small houses down there. I even see children running around, too. There's a big river...

That river? Perhaps?!

"Is that the river of miracle?! The important life source of the Graham empire?!"

I pointed towards the river and turned to Victorian, who nodded her head.

"Umm, that river is the heart of the Graham empire. Without that river, there would be no spring season. Every living plant life is healthy thanks to that magical river. No one knew about that river, even the nobles. Only royalty has knowledge about that legendary river." Victorian smiles and plucked a flower.

"Why would you show me, an outsider, a precious thing?"

"That is because I like you, princess!! I know I can trust everything with you. This flower field was taken care of by me. My mother adored lavender flowers very much. To everyone that loves her, they all think that she is like a lavender, calm and silent yet lovely...my father and mother may be married through political matters, but every day, he would send her a lavender flower. I never knew what my mother looked like. Whenever I asked my father, he would say 'Your mother was an oddball. She didn't want anything besides one lavender flower, whenever I left for wars, she would tie a red ribbon on my sword. If I didn't marry her, right now you wouldn't be here, she would have become the first female duchess.' He would say the same thing again and again. That is why I have to become the first female ruler of the Graham empire, to fulfill my mother's dream."

When Victorian finished her monologue, her eyes were filled with sadness and affection. It was as if she had fully understood her mother than everyone else. It felt like she has already met the empress Selene Nova Grandè.

I have heard about this empress, just like Victorian has said, Selene Nova Grandè really was an amazing woman. She nearly succeeded in inheriting her father's position as a duchess. However, due to her uncle, the current duke of the Graham empire, being really cunning. He married her off to the useless, at that time, prince, Victorian's father, the emperor: Lucifer Alis Grandè.

No one really knew the exact relationship between the empress and the emperor. Everyone would say the emperor ignored and neglected the empress but it was a total lie. If he did despise her then I don't think Victorian would be alive and Selene wouldn't have become the empress, either.

"Aren't you missing your husband, Stella?"

Victorian's sudden question made me jump. Husband....? Oh, yeah...Ethan...I totally forgot about him -^-.

If he knew, he would definitely be upset and grow mushrooms on a corner.

Hehe, thinking of him makes me cheer up.

"I miss him...I miss him every day. I pray to God for his safety."

"Why don't you exchange letters?"

"If we exchange letters then we would show our weakness. I do want to write a letter but knowing Ethan since we were young, he would probably put those letters inside a box after reading it. He's a prideful person, there's no way he would send a letter back."

"Weird but cool." Victorian sweatdrop.

We returned to our own respective palaces that evening. Wendy reads her book in silence before Arianna suddenly bursts inside the room out of nowhere.

"It's a serious problem!! The temple is on fire!!!!"

The temple?!

I was thinking of discontinued the Chinese one...because it was kinda exhausting. The plot was bit off to be honest, I don't know where to start and end with the Chinese one, I found it a bit hard to write fantasy related cultivating story, so I will remove that Chinese novel and rewrite a new one.

Honestly, I found cultivating type is a bit boring and kinda cliche (don't kill me) So I wanted to change it to something more cliche, let just change to a normal reincarnation novel. The title is also long, I will discuss with my editor on the new plot. I think that Long Qing'er should be just alone. Write four romance at same time...no...my brain is going to crack and I'm going to die before Covid-19 kills me. The 5.1k novel, I will delete you without hesitate...I'm sorry but for now...only 3 stories. I will write a brand new one after this book end.

Oh, I mentioned before that I will publish a completed story, Since, all of us don't have to wait.

I will try my best to write alot of chapters for these two books.
