twenty two

The late December almost pushed me down when I walked out the front door of the home that I had be occupying for the time being. I started walking to Starbucks, knowing I don't have a car to drive, even if I could legally. I don't mind walking. California is gorgeous out, even in the winter the sunshines proudly. Something that London never had, it rained every other day there.

It didn't take me long to slide into a booth inside the coffee shop, beating Liam here, surprisingly. I smiled, fixing my hair in my phone's reflection. My heart was speeding up as I tapped the table, waiting for Liam to arrive. "Loubear." Liam's voice rang through the quiet coffee store. I jumped up, pulling him into a tight hug. "I've missed you." We both said at the same time, both of us laughing. Liam had grown, whereas I haven't grown since grade eight. "I have today all planned out, Lou." Liam had a hold of my hand, my cheeks turning from a pink to a bright right.

Liam led me to his car, my mouth falling open when I saw his dream car unlock due to his motion with the key. I smiled, climbing in the passanger seat. Liam had a mix of British and America accent. I liked Liam with an American accent, it was kind of hot. I blushed, looking away from the taller figure next to me. "So, Lou, tell me how you like America so far?" Liam had ahold of my hand, and held the steering wheel with the other.

"It's not fun at all." I shook my head, Liam pouting. I knew he would want more of an explantion, so I continued before he could ask. "I'm sorry. I mean, it's great you are here. But my godparent's son scares me." Liam parked the car, at a Waffle House, and turned to me, patting his lap. I climbed in his lap, no question, laying my head against his chest. This is exactly what we would do when I was scared of my father, I would come to Liam's home and just cuddle his chest.

"Sh, Lou, don't think about the bad stuff. Today is you're seventeenth birthday and I want you to only think about happy things." Liam lifted my chin, holding it only inches from his face. "I love you, Loubear."

"I love you, Liam." He takes me into his arms, holding my waist gently, crashing on lips together softly. I rested my hands on his chest. Liam soon pullled away from Louis, taking my hands as we both got out of the car. Waffle House's parking lot had only two cars, not counting our own. We walked in the some diner, the only people vacating the place were two bored workers.

"Table for two?" The girl smacked her gum she was chewing, Liam giving her a nod for yes, and we both sat at one booth. "Drinks." We both ordered our usual, of course they didn't know it, but I knew exactly what Liam would always drink. Ice tea with a side of lemon, and mine was a glass of water. Liam and I both read the menu, to ourselves, the conversation ceasing as we picked out breakfast. It was a little past mid-morning, so Liam's car radio had read, but Waffle House is good anytime. "So you ready to order?" She rolled her eyes when she walked back over. Liam ordered a large waffle, eggs, bacon, and some grits, but I only ordered a pancake. I didn't want Liam to have to pay for too much because of me.
