I couldn't believe that Scar and I had finally saved up enough money to go to the Alps and we were leaving in a week! It's the last day of school and Scar and I have been texting in every class.
" I can't wait!"
"I know! I've been packed for two months now!"
"Haha! That's nothing! I was packed the night we found the hill in the Alps!"
I started laughing to myself. I tried to stop it from coming out but it was too late, the teacher had found me first. She took my phone until the end of class. 30 life threateningly boarding minutes later, I got my phone and texted Scar.
"See you in a week!"
"Yah! Can't wait! :)"
I walked home as fast as I could. "Hey mom, I'll be back in an hour or two." I said as I slammed the door. I jumped off of the two steps in front of my house and landed on my longboard. Without even thinking about it, I found myself at Scar and I's meeting spot for longboarding. I pulled out the hippy jump bar we had hidden once we found the spot, and the kicker ramp that we hid in an abandoned house right next to the secret street. I bombed the hill that led to the skate spot. I slid around the sweeping corners of the peaceful road. I road tuck position for the last half of the hill until I got to the kicker ramp at the bottom. I went of the kicker and stayed in the air for what felt like an eternity. I then landed back on the slick downhill slope. I slid to a stop when I saw scar climbing up the hill behind me. "Hey Scar!" I cried out.
"Wassup Eli!"
"Not much, just BOMING this hill. You?"
"I was making my way up there! Wanna come up with me?"
"Sure."
Most of the walk was silent after that. We never really talk much when we are here because this is truly a sanctuary for both of us and this hill is so perfect for downhill, we don't want to ruin it.
For some reason, no one lives here. There are three abandoned houses here, two of them are intact but beat up, and the other house burned down half of the way so the only thing left is a cement basement and a rickety old wooden floor above it. Besides the road and the houses, this place is untouched by man, that is until we shredded the living daylights out of it.
It was getting dark so we headed to my house and made sure we had every thing packed. Scar texted his mom that he wanted to stay here tonight so we sat on my bed and talked about what we would do in the Alps and girls and how happy we were school was out. It was as if we had no problems in the world. By far, this was the best day of my life so far.
