Nineteen - Beginning of the End, Back Where We Started

Avengers Facility, Upstate New York - Earth

Pre the Time Heist, the look-alikes were bonded together by their lack of understanding of what was going on concerning them.  That, and their collective losses. 

Upon hearing that time travel was indeed possible, and that they may just be able to go back in time and retrieve the Stones to bring together to undo Thanos's wrongdoings, the look-alikes met at the Avengers Facility to discuss what this meant, as well as what it could mean, for all of them.

This wasn't their first meeting. They had met many times in the years following Thanos's death and the loss of the Stones. 

The reasonings behind their likeness of appearance was still a mystery to them at that point, but wouldn't be for much longer.

"It would not be the first time I have lost him," Kalyna sighed, thinking of T'Challa.  "But loss is never easy." 

"I understand," said Sigyn.

"Me too," agreed Karen.

"Yes. And now we have a chance to bring them all back," said Kat. 

A chance, a miracle perhaps, to undo what had been done.

Now we have a chance to bring them all back...

Avengers Facility Ruins, Upstate New York - Earth

Post the Time Heist, the look-alike women were banded together under the same cause. A cause none of them had been aware of until now, a pre-determined, pre-destined purpose.

"Hey Babe, I'm bringing the party to you."

Led Zeppelin's When the Levee Breaks filled the air, and Kass appeared, de-activating her cloaking tech.  Along with her, seven shadows emerged through the dust. The look-alikes. The intended - and original, one could say - Infinity Gauntlet. Now each one stood upon the battlefield, each representing their piece of the puzzle, their own Stone. 

They were back where they had started, all of them, everyone - ending at the beginning, beginning at the end.

"Search for the new Gauntlet - it's somewhere under this mess," Adonia ordered, gesturing to the destruction around them.  "And keep an eye out for anyone who's trapped."

"What will you do?" asked Kalyna. 

Adonia's eyes flitted towards the sky. "I need to see my daughters..." With one last glance at Thanos, she zoomed upwards towards the largest of the ships, the all-too familiar Sanctuary II, the leader of the fleet and, once up a time, her home. 

"Airborne units, open fire!" Thanos ordered.

Small, aerodynamic ships zipped around, opening fire at her, but she blasted right through them.

From inside the ship, Gamora stood, watching through the window.  Something was whipping through the sky taking down their airborne units.  This scene was all-too familiar...

"We're under attack!"

When she and Nebula were still only children, their ship had come under attack.  Adonia was convinced that it was the same attackers who had killed Thane those years before, but they could not be certain. However, whoever they were, she wasn't going to let them attack this time.

In a flash of light, she was all suited up, ready to face down the approaching enemy ships. 

"Mother!" cried Gamora, fearful for her mother's safety.

Adonia only gave her a brief smile and a look that said everything was under control before her eyes glowed blue and she opened up a portal via the Space Stone, and was flying around outside the ship towards the approaching enemy in a matter of moments.

Gamora raced to the nearest window, pressing her palms to the glass as she peered out at her mother flying right towards the oncoming fleet, showing no sign of slowing down or even stopping.

The flash when she struck the ship head-on was blinding, illuminating the entire sky around them.   With the lead ship down, she moved onto the next one, continuing to take down the enemy fleet. 

Both of the sisters watched, jaws dropped and eyes wide in awe, having become speechless by what they were witnessing. Then, in one final burst of light, Lady Infinity clenched her fist  and a surge of all six Stones' energies surrounded them, telling this enemy, whoever they were - and whoever was left - that this area was under the protection of Lady Infinity and the Infinity Stones. 

Now, recalling that memory which she remembered clearly, Gamora was just as speechless.  

But that was impossible.

Her mother was gone, had been for a long time. But one look at Nebula, who was smiling, told her that maybe, just maybe, her memory hadn't been in vain...

Just like their younger selves had all those years ago, the sisters approached the window of the ship, watching the various bursts of light flashing all around them.

Suddenly, the multicoloured figure drew to an abrupt halt, facing the window, meeting  their stares. 

A figure in all black armour with multicoloured skin of red, orange, blue, green, purple and yellow, and the six Infinity Stones floating around her wrist.

She looked just as they remembered her. 

Adonia.

Lady Infinity. 

Their mother. 

Gamora was in tears now.  "Mother," she choked.

Coloured light swirled around their mother, who was smiling at them. A portal opened, again thanks to the power of the Space Stone, and suddenly, she was inside the ship, standing there before them, there, really truly there, alive and well. 

She pulled the sisters into a tight hug.  "My daughters."

"It's true, you're alive, you're here-" sobbed Gamora.

"Yes, I am here."

"But what about Father, the Stones, the battle..." Gamora's words trailed off as her gaze went downcast at said battlefield beneath them. 

"We can stop him." Adonia reached out and took her daughters' hands in hers, giving them a squeeze.  "Together."
 

(Yes, as you may have guessed, the scene with Adonia fighting the ships was inspired by Carol's amazing fight sequence in Captain Marvel! I love that scene so much!

I had visions of Adonia smashing through ships before Captain Marvel came out, and then Carol did so in the movie and it was so epic! :D So I wanted to keep it here for Adonia too!
