000---000
Lance's POV
I sat on the couch and started watching the tv. I got the remote and tried on switching to channels. Seriously, I don't know how many clicks I did to find a good thing to watch.
I was bored.
Definitely.
That's until I heard a scream. A surprising one which made me somewhat drop the remote. Some of the utensils also made an unpleasnt noise from the kitchen of my apartment room. I guess my best friend here jumped out from the scream we heard.
"What on earth was that?" Denis gave me a questioning look as he came out of the kitchen, trying to wipe dry his hands with the towel.
"What?" I shrugged. "That was probably a scream."
He sighed as he removed the apron from his towel. "Obviously." He shook his head. "That scream came from a girl. It freaked out Pepper as well." Pepper is his pet rabbit and right now, it's hiding behind his foot. "Let's check it out." He knelt down to get Pepper on the floor.
"Check what out?" I asked. My eyes were again fixed on the TV which I was again transferring from channel to channel.
"I'm not the detective here."
Right. I sighed. There's no point in getting out and ask why that person screamed. That person could have only seen some cockroach or something... A rat perhaps? Then again, there's no point in staying in this room with no good things to see in the television. And besides, a murder might have occured.
And yes, I might have confused you with my thoughts, but did you see the logic?
As if my feet has mind of their own, I stood up and quickly and went out of our room, not minding if the television was still on. Once out of the hallway, we heard sobs. We followed to where the cry was coming from, quickly. I opened the door, not even bothering knowing who lives inside that room.
To my surprise, it was the nerd girl from before. What's wrong?
She's crying.
"G… Gho… g… ghos… Ghost…" She muttered as she buried her head on both her palms. "There was. . . there was block out and there was. . . there was no light then I. . . I got my flashlight but it went out easily but I know I have changed the batteries only a week ago and then someone. . . or somebody or something. . . touched my foot and it felt like a hand or something. . ." She said in between sobs. Tears were falling uncontrollably on her face.
I made a face.
Is she nuts?
Is she out of her mind?
I looked at her confusedly. And I knew very well that Denis has the same expression as me and we looked at each other.
