*Ski a couple hours before Skye push the baby out🤣^*skyes12 😘
"Baby come on you got this, keep pushing!" My favorite voice motivated.
"One more push sweetie and she'll be out!"
"Skye last one!"
Ski cut the umbilical cord, looking nervous. I thought it was so cute.
After all the sweat, tears, and motivation, I could finally look at my baby girl. She was the most precious thing I had ever seen. My heart was filled with immense joy, despite the fact that it felt like it would soon beat out my chest because of how tired I was feeling. All I could hear right now was her loud cries but I was mesmerized by it all.
I shed a tear as I watched the doctor and nurses take the baby away to clean her. Everybody but Stokeley left out the room to give us some alone time. I couldn't believe I had just pushed out our baby.
I looked over at Stokeley and he was also crying, more than me. "Aww boooo," I reacted. He got up and came over to me, immediately putting his head in my chest and balling his eyes out.
"You a big ass baby, Stokeley," I laughed, rubbing his back.
He lifted his head back up. "Sorry, I should be the one comforting you." He reached into his pocket to retrieve tissues to wipe my face then his.
"Ski shut uppp, I know how nervous you are but we'll have fun," I assured him.
"I know, no matter how nonchalant I seem, you of all people know how emotional I am," he admitted, smiling. "Maybe because I have a soft spot for you," he mumbled the last part.
"Awwww I love you Stokeley." I squeezed him with the rest of the strength I had.
"Love you more." Our sap session was over when the nurse brought our daughter back in.
"She is just the cutest thing!" She exclaimed, carefully handing her back to me. She was still crying.
"Thank you," I responded, taking the baby from her.
"Would you like for me to call your family members in here?" The nurse sweetly asked.
"Yes, please." We didn't have very many people come to the hospital with us. It was just Ski's mom and sister as well Gabe, and my mom, brother, and sister. And my best friend, London, of course. Going through that many people I guess I did have more than a couple people come.
I looked up at Stokeley and signaled that I wanted to hand him the baby and he held his arms out. He carefully picked the baby up and surprisingly she didn't cry, if I'm not crazy she smirked a little bit when she noticed she was in someone else's arms.
"Yo what we finna name her, Skye?" He asked, playing with her chubby cheeks.
I brainstormed for a little bit but couldn't think of anything. Just then I remembered that we had agreed on one a while back. "Scarlett!"
"Oh yeah I fuck with that one," he agreed. "Scarlett Lucia Goulbourne."
I smiled in agreement. Lucia is his grandmother's name.
After we decided on the name, our folks came in and squealed when they seen Stokeley holding the baby. It startled her and that's when she started crying again.
"Oh my goodness, lemme see her Stokeley!" His mom exclaimed, sauntering over to him.
"Aww she got some big ole eyes just like Stokeley," she commented. It made everyone but him laugh, he just playfully rolled his eyes and waved her off. As she was holding him everyone came around her to just admire her.
"Her name is Sharkeisha." Everyone slowly looked up at Stokeley waiting for him to say he was joking. I was trying to hide my laughter, why must he be so goofy.
My mom lifted her eyebrows in amazement and simply glanced over at me. I lifted my hands pleading the fifth.
"Oh I'm just playing with y'all," Stokeley stated, earning a laugh from everyone. "She's Scarlett," he finally said. Everyone seemed to like the name. His mom handed the baby over to my mom and from there everyone had a chance to hold her at least once.
As I was watching everyone interact with the baby in awe, I saw Stokeley doing something sneaky in the corner of my eye. Before I knew it, he was kneeling to the right of me. "Oh shit y'all look at Ski!" London announced, grinning from ear to ear. Everyone stopped what they were doing to watch him.
"Before everyone makes noise, no, this is not a proposal," he assured. "One day though."
The smile didn't ever leave my face. He opened a small box revealing a beautiful yet simple ring. He knew my taste.
"This just sum light, but I got you a promise ring a couple weeks ago and now, I think, is the perfect time to give it to you. I vow to be here for you and Scarlett no matter what. You already know that I love you to the moon and back and that nothing can separate us. You've been here for me through the ups and downs and forgave me when I didn't deserve it. You're the woman of my dreams and to make things better, you're the mother of my baby girl. On everything I love imma turn this into an engagement ring one day," he expressed to me, taking the ring out the box and putting it on my left ring finger. The water works were doing their thing right now. I could not stop crying.
"Thank you Stokeley! I love you too, forever and ever. I'm at a loss for words for right now," I responded. He kissed my hand and I wrapped my arms around him to embrace him in a hug. I heard sniffling that wasn't coming from me or Stokeley and Gabe surprisingly shed a tear.
"Felt that, Gabe?" Isis, Ski's sister teased.
"Yeah bro that really touched my heart," he said, nodding his head.
"Wow," said his mom, shocked. "I knew you loved her but I didn't know you would get all emotional on us!"
"Nah for real," my brother agreed.
"Loved it." My mom. By the looks of it, my sister did too.
"Where we finna eat at?" My sister joked. I automatically thought of the video and whoever else got the joke laughed too.
"Doesn't matter to me," I stated, in euphoria. I was in the clouds right now for so many reasons.
