Nene, Hanako, and Kou are in a poly relationship and all are ok with if any of them date someone else because they're poly and they get it, therefore Kou can be in a relationship with Mitsuba who is supportive of polyamory and Nene can have random crushes on every person that walks past her in the hall such as Aoi, sakura, and Natsuhiko.
Less importantly, how Mitsuba died:
Mitsuba was hit by a drunk driver, his neck broke on impact. The car was badly damaged as well, hitting a pole as well as Mitsuba and it caught fire. This explains Mitsuba's neck scar and burnt scarf. Why do we never see his right hand you may be asking? Worst case scenario, self harm, best case scenario it was caused by the accident... actually, best case scenario is he just thinks it makes him look cuter, which it does.
