Mitsukou reunite

Kou looked at Mitsuba. He seemed troubled and tense. Kou didn't want to scare him, but he knew that was going to happen no matter what he did.
"M-Mitsuba"
Mitsuba jumped as expected and quickly turned around. He stood up and looked at Kou, bewildered.
"Kou? Is that y-"
Mitsuba wasn't able to finish his sentence before Kou picked him up and twirled him around.
If Mitsuba hadn't been so relieved, confused, and happy than he would've called Kou a pervert. When Kou set him down, Mitsuba was crying.
"Kou! How are you here?"
"I- guess I'm a ghost"
"Why the hell didn't you come back sooner you selfish asshole!"
Mitsuba buried his face in Kou's chest angrily. He had gone through a roller coaster of emotions and blamed Kou, he was truly happy, but also angry- he was very confused and didn't know what to feel.
"Come back sooner? This wasn't a choice! You should know that!" Kou's voice wasn't angry, but playful instead. He petted Mitsuba's soft hair and held him tight. The two stood like this for a few moments before Mitsuba pulled away embarrassed he had shown his crush/only friend these emotions. They sat down, both facing the school courtyard. It was a lovely view, Kou dangled his legs through the rails and Mitsuba sat criss cross.
"So, you were clearly upset... would you like to talk about it?"
Mitsuba looked at Kou, perplexed. Why would he want to talk about it?
"Kou, you're back now. I'm fine."
"Just because you are ok doesn't mean you were ok. The emotions may not still be there, but it's still good to get them out in the open, right?"
Mitsuba smiled at the gesture. He was confused with his emotions and decided maybe talking about them would make him less confused.
"Yeah... I was upset. You are the only friend I've ever had that's genuinely liked me for my personality. Everyone else was either not really my friend or didn't really know me. You're very persistent. You pushed me out of the way.. you saved me. How was I supposed to feel, Kou? I just got my first ever friend and hours later, he was ripped from me. I... as terrible as it sounds, I wished you hadn't pushed me out of the way. I'm the reason you died in the first place... aren't you upset at me?"
Kou listened to him calmly up until Mitsuba said he had wished Kou hadn't saved him.
"I don't blame you at all! You didn't even want me to help you at first, so it was really my fault. And I pushed you out of the way on my own terms. I'd do the same thing if I could do it over."
Mitsuba gave a delicate smile. He was glad to hear Kou didn't regret it. Mitsuba still blamed himself, but knowing Kou didn't made, him feel better. Kou pulled his legs from the ledge and moved to be next to Mitsuba and laid down.
"What are you doing?"
"Looking at the stars."
"You're looking at me-"
Kou smiled and whispered "you're a star"
And got up, wanting to kiss Mitsuba.
Mitsuba pushed him and looked away to hide his now blushing face.
"S-shut up, dumbass. Don't say things you don't mean."
"I do mean it"
"Well, obviously I'm a star, I'm super cute. But I mean, that's flirty. Don't flirt with someone unless you intend on-"
Kou kissed Mitsuba on the lips, cutting him off. Mitsuba's cold dead heart melted. He knew Kou was in a relationship with Nene and Hanako and that he was poly. Hanako had told him. Mitsuba did have a crush on Kou, but had no idea it was mutual.
When they pulled away, they were both blushing.
"What was that for?"
"I just thought your ego may need a boost. Not that it isn't inflated already."
Mitsuba glared at him.
"Did I say something wrong, Mitsuba? Oh, was it the thing about the ego? Well, am I wrong?"
Mitsuba crossed his arms and looked away from Kou. He didn't say a word in response.
"Aww, come on! You know I was only kidding, Mitsu!" Mitsuba didn't budge. He wasn't truly upset, only playing hard to get. Kou recognizes this and pulled Mitsuba onto his lap, hugging him.
"I'm so sorry, Mitsuba. I shouldn't have insulted you like that. Could you ever forgive me?"
Mitsuba blushed, the feeling of Kou's body heat was comforting.
"Don't patronize me, stupid pervert."
