Chapter 9

Justin's POV

I'm terrified what she needs to talk about. But I shouldn't be scared right? Nothing is wrong. She seemed happy. Well last time a girl said she wanted to talk, she kissed me and almost made me lose a girl I really liked. I have learned from that experience. So as I was saying, I have no clue what my girlfriend is going to say ( I love saying my girlfriend. It has a nice ring to it when you connect my Alyssa to it).

I led her to my dressing room after turning a few corners and passing a bunch of security. The gold plaque on it said my name so I opened it for her. She stepped inside silently and I did the same, closing the door behind me. She turned around and faceD me as I was walking toward her.

"Justin when we first made eye contact at the pond that night did you... I don't know... feel anything... different?" She asked pausing and hesitating anxiously. I was slightly confused at first. When we first made eye contact she was a wolf but then I recalled what she might be talking about.

"Actually it's funny you mentioned it because I did feel... Something. It was kind of like... a click...I don't know how to explain it... All I can say is I've never felt the same thing with anyone or anything else before," I told her as my eyes darted to different parts of the room trying to find the right words to explain it. My mind and my vocabulary were drawing a blank. My eyes again found hers and she was smiling wide.

Then slowly she said, "Justin, we're mates..."

My mouth opened wide as my jaw dropped like it weighed too much to pick back up again. Not what I expected her to say.

"What do you mean mates!" I asked very confused. I knew what mates meant but I only thought that happened with animals. But then I remembered what she was.

"I mean we are connected. That's what I was just talking about with my dad. I described what it was like when we first saw each other. He told me that it was when you first make eye contact with your mate, you both feel like a connection. This sparks feelings that can be described as almost territorial feelings. That's why I was upset when I saw you kissing Selena. I was already forming my strong, territorial feelings for you. He also said that when you find your mate, mortal or not, they start to feel territorial kind of like a dog," She explained.

I kind of just stared at her. I felt a little confused and overwhelmed. I was just trying to absorb this newfound information. I should be freaking out but for some of reason, I kind of liked the idea. Knowing that she is mine and I'm hers. That would also explain why I started to like her as soon as I met her, even in wolf form.

"Justin? Oh, I know I shouldn't have told you! We just started dating-" she exclaimed quickly. I pressed my lips against hers to shut her up.

I felt her go from tense to lax as I kissed her. She kisses back and I was also relieved of stress and worries that surrounded me. We were on Cloud 9 and I don't think either of us wanted to come back down. We pulled away for air, our cheeks flushed as we panted heavily. I just sang not that long ago so I'm still a little out of breath from that. I hugged her tight against my body.

"You can't get rid of me that easy, baby," I whispered on her hair as I kissed it a last time. I then rested my cheek on her head trying to get her as close as possible. She nodded and snuggled into my neck. This felt right. Alyssa and Justin was right.

Alyssa's POV

I loved being in Justin's embrace. He held me so close and tight. I felt like I was surrounded by care. I finally realized how much I needed him. My heart was dying to be with him. If we didn't come back together I might have died of a broken heart.
