"Report?" he asked. A single word, but dictated with such an air of command that it made the person in front of him squirm and uneasy.

"It is a worldwide epidemic. More than half the population of this world has been infected. The first wave has been a success and the second wave is in the process as we speak. We are now preparing for the third wave. It will be the last."

A malicious smile broke onto his pale-looking diseased face revealing a chain of rotten teeth. The putrid smell clinging onto his breath forced the lady standing only inches away from him to take three steps back – making the man giggle to himself in a humorous manner. He took pride in these small accounts. It made him confident of himself – not that he lacked confidence in any way – but it made him feel good. He liked watching others repel from him. He liked watching their faces distraught with disgust and revulsion. It made him feel right somehow.

"Good," he replied in his thick and heavy voice. It was the kind of voice which only a man like him could possess; a different sort of a voice; a voice that wasn't human in nature but at the same time felt more humane than any other organism or being walking this planet.

With that said and done, the lady burdened with the task to inform him of the recent developments took her cue and impatiently left the room – trying to make it look as natural and unseemingly as possible.

This man – who was now staring blissfully at the several LED screens pinned onto the wall in front of him – was like the embodiment and manifestation of a multitude of diseases.

When he walked, it seemed like the germs and bacteria radiated off of him on their own accord. When he touched something, it felt as if he was transferring a surge of germs from within him to the object he had just touched. When he talked, it felt as if the saliva and spit inside his mouth were aiming to infect the organism standing before him.

Every single action of this being was somehow infected and catastrophic nature.

Nevertheless, he walked with an air of command and confidence. In all his years – and there were so, so many – he was never used to be said 'no' to; never used to be taken for granted; never used to any malice or provocations by any other party that he wasn't comfortable with.

All in all, he was the kind of being who liked having everything go according to his, and only his, plan.

As of now, all of his plans were working according to his liking.

And he couldn't help but smile his eerie smile which made the entire atmosphere of the room stifling and inhabitable for others.
