CHAPTER 1

"minho? are you there?"

"lix? it's nearly 2am, why are you calling so late at night?"

"i know i'm sorry to call at this time but... it's chan."

"what happened now?"

"he's drunk again. please come pick him up."

"what.. why can't you take him home this time?"

"i.. i broke up with him.."

"fuck.. lix i'm so sorry.."

"yeah me too... just please come get him."

"yeah of course, just text me the address, i'll be there soon."

"thank you so much minho."

"no worries, i love you lix okay?"

"okay, i love you too."

"got your seatbelt on?"

minho nodded as confirmation, smiling at jisung in the driver's seat.

"alright let's go!"

jisung drove out of the driveway of their apartment building, which lead onto a dark and empty road. their neighbourhood was small and surburban, very few people lived in the area and everyone kept to themselves.

someone living there could die and no one would care or even bother to ask about it. even the residents in the other apartments minded their own business, which the two boys didn't disapprove of because it meant they had their utmost privacy.

it wasn't the best area minho and jisung wished to live in but it was the cheapest regarding their unlucky circumstances and at least this way, they were still together.

"okay, i just texted felix that we're on the way. baby, i could've drove there myself you know."

jisung internally slapped himself for getting flustered so easily whenever minho called him baby, although he always managed to hide his blushing in front of the older.

"so you were just gonna leave me at home by myself in the dark!! wow you are heartless, mr. lee. anyways, watching shrek 2 can wait, chan is way more important."

"awwee you're so cute hannie!" minho cooed, "just drive carefully okay?"

"of course min, just trust me."

"you know i do, idiot. but do you even know where the club is?"

jisung scoffed, "actually yes i do, idiot."

minho rolled his eyes jokingly at the younger, which earned a small laugh from both boys.

"but why can't felix take chan home? he's been doing it this whole time without any problems or anything."

jisung frowned thinking about all the times felix has cleaned up after chan, no one deserves that kind of treatment from their own boyfriend, especially his best friend.

"oh.. lix said they broke up."

"oh shit.."

there was a brief pause between the two before jisung spoke once more.

"honestly i think it's for the best, their relationship was.. something else."

"i agree, i just didn't expect felix to be the one to do it. chan was always the one who seemed so uninterested in felix, yet felix never stopped trying to get his attention."

"i wish he'd just tell you what was wrong, chan's just going through it by himself and you've been his best friend all these years. the man is way too stubborn."

minho sighed in frustration, "i know.. what could be on his mind so much that he can't even stay sober? and how bad of a boyfriend was he that even felix, who loved him with his entire heart, felt the need to break up?"

jisung took one of his hands off the wheel, placing it against minho's knee. he rubbed it softly with the palm of his hand, knowing this would calm the older down, who grew more stressed from the situation between his two best friends.

"i don't know but we can't interfere, he made us promise remember so when we pick up chan, let's not ask questions okay love?"

minho's breathing slowed to a regular pace and he exhaled a deep breath as he smiled to his boyfriend, who returned the smile before looking straight ahead on the road.

"yeah of course baby. he'll probably be too fucking drunk to answer anyway as always."

"even if he is too drunk, maybe he'll listen to you, after all he is your b-"

a sudden and forceful impact hit the driver's side of the car as jisung made a left turn to another road.

a vehicle had collided into their car, driving them into a large tree. the car that hit them had fallen off the side of the road.

within seconds, minho's head made contact with the glass window, the collision causing him to fall unconscious but still breathing.

jisung wasn't so lucky.

BREAKING NEWS

"lee minho, aged 20, and han jisung, aged 19, were rushed to the hospital, on the 25th of march after being involved in a serious car accident.

the driver of the other car, choi seungcheol, died at the scene at 1:44am. the autopsy showed that the cause of death was extreme internal bleeding from the car crash, as a result of alcohol intoxication.

it has been confirmed earlier today that lee minho was the only survivor."
