Sorry this took so long and it's so short., I had an original draft but I didn't like it so I ended up rewriting the whole thing and it took a while.
Just a little
bit of fun.The picnic was going well. For the most part. Stephen was sat next to a nearby tree, which wasn't too near at all, just listening to whatever was on his phone. The rest of the group was chatting their hearts out. With the exception of Hosuh, who would only butt in every now and again to agree or argue someone else point, or to add more to the conversation when no one else could. He liked it, though, listening to them getting along. He guessed that if he wasn't there, Stephen would be chatting too, doing everything that Hosuh was and more. That thought upset him slightly. But still, he stayed positive. He was sure that if Stephen was part of the conversation, Daniel wouldn't be, and everyone liked Daniel so Hosuh was glad he was making everyone happy by keeping away the one person who wouldn't.
Atleast that's what he thought he was doing.
Ann and Daniel left earlier than the other three, having to go home for dinner or other family related events. You couldn't really count Stephen as there though. Not until he took out his earphones and came to sit with them. "Hey..." he muttered. Hosuh was confused. Stephen stayed away for what reason, if it wasn't him?
"Hey, you look down, is everything okay?" Jay asked. He seemed used to it, in Hosuh's eyes anyways. His voice was calm and casual, though he knew the question wasn't just a general 'is everything okay' but one that you would ask when you know somethings wrong.
"Me and Daniel fell out.. again." Stephen admitted, looking down into his lap instead of up at his friends infront of him.
"What over?"
"The usual stuff. How he only hangs around me because no one else will, and such." Stephen said. The usual stuff. He said it as if they argued often, and that this is always what it was about.
"Daniel was probably just annoyed when he said that, or maybe you misheard him.." How Jay was so calm with this, Hosuh didn't really know.
"It doesn't matter if he said it in anger, or if he didn't even say it at all, I know that's how he thinks. He pities me... that's the only reason we are 'friends'." Stephen sighed and took some food from the bag. Jay scooted around and hugged Stephen, comforting him.
"This happens often?" Stephen looked up at Hosuh when he said this.
"Yeah... every now and again. It's none of your business, you're just going to be that one guy who's 'not going to choose a side' but goes and talks to Daniel about how rude and pathetic I am." Stephen began eating more and more.
"No, I'm not like that... I mean, for one, you aren't pathetic, to me, atleast. And two, I wouldn't be brave enough to say anything bad about a fly, let alone someone who could crush my head between their thighs." He seriously didn't just say that- did he? Well, what he said made Stephen laugh a little. "You have a nice laugh." Hosuh mentioned.
"Thanks... I get that sometimes."Once it started getting dark, Stephen went off home, and Jay and Hosuh biked over to Hosuh's house. "My parents will Soooooo kill me tomorrow. Oh well, it was worth it to see Stephen happy. He never usually gets so cheerful after him and Daniel fight... you seem to have a good affect on him." Jay commented.
"Well, I get that sometimes." Hosuh quoted, making the both of them laugh.
"I can't believe he said that. I mean, it's true, but most of the time he responds with 'shut up' or he walks off." Jay said, taking his hands off of his handle bars as they were going to be going straight for a little while. "He likes you already. Well done, once you get passed Stephen, you're officially one of us."
"Well, I feel honoured." Hosuh joked. He wasn't much of a risk taker, so he kept his hands firmly on the handle bars.
"You should."
