Lunar was baking cookies in her treehouse when a loud, blaring siren sounded. Solar made eye contact with her.
"A conflict has broke out." Solar says.
"Rose will want us to fight." Lunar responds, frowning, already taking out the cookies and putting the extra cookie dough into the fridge.
"We can't. You could get hurt!" Solar shakes her head frantically, her little sister could not go.
"We're generals. We have to go. For them." Despite being young, the rules had stated that, as Keepers, they had to be generals.
Solar sighs.
"If we die, I blame you."Lunar stuffed her bag full of things. A few changes of cloths, a small wolf plushy, a pair of pajamas, a plastic container of cookies, and a picture of her and Solar. At the last second, she shoved a purple spiral notebook into the bag alongside a pencil.
She slung the messenger bag over her shoulder before running out to where Solar stood, already packed. They took flight, Lunar quickly taking the lead. With her small stature, large wings, and experience, she was by far one of the fastest, most nimble flyers in Astria. She ducked down to shoot through the only way in and out of the Midnight Jungles. There was an enchantment on the jungle so that the entrance, which constantly changed, was the only way in and out. If you want to get in, you have to either be an inhabitant or be with an inhabitant. Soon, she made it to the camp, landing softly and walking up behind one of the soldiers. A new recruit, from the looks of it. She grabs a stick, poking him in the back. He jumps, turning around.
"Down here, soldier." In the past years, she had grown to be a whopping 4'10.
"Huh? What are you doing here, kid? It's dangerous!"
"Well yeah, with idiots like you around. If I was an enemy, you'd be dead. Be more aware of your surroundings. Which division are you under?"
"Uh, I'm in the Darkness Division? Why do you even need to know? You shouldn't be here, you know, you could get in trouble." Lunar glances back at Solar, who looks like she's about ready to keel over in laughter.
"Well, that's something we'll have to work on then. It's a good thing you're under my training, and not Solar's."
"Your training? You aren't a general!"
"Square up, yeah?" She says, tossing her bag to one of the other soldiers.
"Teach him who's boss, General!" The soldier grins. More gather around.
"New recruit doesn't believe that Lunar's a general?" One comments.
He huffs, focusing on the small girl. She lifted her hands, balled into fists. Her stance was all wrong, he thought to himself. He took a swing at her. Suddenly, she wasn't there. She darted behind him, kicking him softly on the back. Enough to make him stumble. Twisting around, he watches as she lands softly, eyes glinting excitedly.
"See, this is why I love being a general!" She comments to Solar, who now stood near the front of the crowd.
She darts forward, twisting around him while pretending to stab him.
"You would be so dead right now if I were an enemy."
He tries to land a hit on her, yet still, she easily dodges him. Finally, she just hits him over the head. He stumbles to the ground, looking up at her.
"Winner, winner. We'll need to work on combat training as well... And reaction time. That was just pitiful. However, you are determined, I'll give you that." She reaches out her hand.
"Welcome to the darkness division."
After helping him up, she claps,
"Alrighty everyone, show's over. Yo! All experienced dark division fighters! I'm gonna have to ask you to step forward. There's a battle going on, and Ms. Bane of my existence probably needs our help!" About twenty people step forwards as the soldier from earlier scrambled into the crowd.
"General! It's good to have you back!"
"As for you, Dodger. Where's Rodger?"
"Right here, General!" She grins. The twins were some of her best fighters, and they weren't even Astrians. They were closer to androids. They had simply appeared one day. Lunar had claimed them for her division, taught them the basics of fighting which they picked up quickly, and appointed them as co-generals for the darkness division. They were basically her kids, despite being older than her.
"Well, team, lets get a move on! Falcon is useless on her own. How much you wanna bet she isn't even there! Coward..."
She turns, and begins running, the rest of them falling into formation behind her.
