Head held high

Darkness catches me off guard, floods the many

perilous grey nights, appraising my will to fight.

Cowardly light lurks behind shadows, defeated.

Overwhelmed by the odds it fears to step out.

Under the downpour, an infuriated flurry of anguish.

Rains on my will, my soul, my strength to withstand.

A bloodied skull and in my unbecoming fall I land.

My spirit and head unbowed in perceived languish.

Failed love, shattered dreams, chase me and catch up.

In the vice like grip of unfavourable chances and fate.

In moments that I succumb under unbearable weight.

I refuse to stay on my knees, my every fall is to rise up.

The danger, that stalks my happiness with a blade.

Like a lost Spirit hell bent on exacting vengeance.

I shall not writhe and squirm in his sinister presence.

My unconquered spirit shall pour fear into his heart.

For every failed dream, and happiness snatched away.

I shall dream two and find joy in the fragments of life.

Every time darkness finds me and knocks on the door.

Shall find me, Unafraid, unperturbed and head held high.

“It Ain’t How Hard You Hit…It’s How Hard You Can Get Hit and Keep Moving Forward. It's About How Much You Can Take And Keep Moving Forward!”
