No this was not Courtney's competition we entered in a jumping competition and it was fun except for the tack part I hated the tack part. we wanted to enter another competition but we had to go to Jade's aunt's farm for the summer.

It was near my birthplace but not close enough to jerk back memories. When we got there we amazed at how big it was I wasn't just a barn it was a boarding stable. When we got there Jade went straight to aunt Penny as she called her.

"Aunt Penny aunt Penny" Jade called as she ran towards her. "Ah, Jade there you are and weres Baner," she asked where I was while embracing Jade. "Oh, that reminds me, aunt Penny, can Baner sleep in the pasture."

I wanted to sleep in the pasture but I didn't want to be stuck in the rain that Night. "No dear there will be a storm tonight I don't think she would like to be in the rain do you." No, I would not "no" Jade replied, "come dear let's go inside."

The storm clouds were coming in fast "come inside Jade dear Alex will bring Baner In the barn." I hope he knows no halter dut halters aren't like bridles "ok, how bad will the storm be." Jade asked without looking at aunt Penny.

"I don't know Jade all I know is that it'll be bad" I head that as Alex a blue-eyed black-hair boy about the same age as Jade put a halter on me and led me to an empty stall in the middle of the barn "there you go girl."

He was just as kind as Jade to I liked him when he left the horse across from me introduced himself. He said his name was Mist of the Sea or Mist for short. then all the horses introduced themselves there were Apples or Eyes of the Apples.

Toffe or Flow of Toffe there were many more, more than I can say but there was one right next to me called Stars of the Night or Night for short he was Alexes horse I suddenly heard thunder all the horses freaked except for Night and myself he later explained that he was born in a storm like this one.

The next morning Jade was talking to Alex I wondered why but when she got to me she said that Alex challenged us to a race around Chincoteague Island and we were to meet him and Night at the edge of the island on the left side.

When we got there Alex was surprised "where's your tack," he asked. "Oh, we ride bareback we don't do tack" he was just looked at us like your weird. "Well, are we going to race," Jade asked Alex who was still staring at us.

"Oh, yeah sorry" when we got into position to race Night said be prepared to lose I just rolled my eyes. When Alex said go we were off I was in the lead of course and well leaving Night and Alex in the dust.

When we were halfway around the island Night was starting slowing down. I just kept on going "Slow down Baner," Jade said as she pulled me to a trot. "You need to save energy" did she forget that I was wild.

"Oh, right well let's go" we went back to a gallop and by the time Alex got to where we were we were where we started. When Alex got back he was astonished of how fast I was "how is your horse so fast."

Jade replied that I was wild and tack just slows me down Night was gasping for air. "I was sure we would win," Alex said on our way back to the stables. When we got back aunt Penny said that she watched the whole thing.

"Wow, I'm impressed on how well you rode today have you thought of entering another competition." We both shook our heads no and they started to laugh we looked at them confused.

"What," asked Jade "that was time soo perfectly," Alex said through gasps for air "yeah that was timing." Aunt Penny stopped laughing first then Alex "sorry dear it was just convenient timing that's all"

When we were put back in the stalls Night couldn't stop laughing I asked him to stop and he did. "So, hows your horse that fast I heard one of the girls ask Jade when they got back with some food for us.

"Well she is wild" that's right "wow and you can ride her" yep she can. I shook my head waiting for food. "Yes, I can my sister tried riding her once and got thrown off" oh, we're going back to that.

"Wow, did she get hurt"no, But her whip did it snapped in two "no, thank goodness" as they feed Mist and me they talked. Once I heard Jade say, Amber, I guess that's her name well when they walked out I asked Mist if her owers name was Amber, she said yes Amber Hays.

The next morning I was up with the dew and waiting to be ridden when Jade finally came I twenty minutes after I got up we went on a ride. We got back and learned that aunt Penny signed us up for a competition.

The competition was a dressage competition which we've never done dressage before so we practiced every day until the day and we came back winners we got first place surprisingly. We didn't want to do any more competitions for a while but aunt Penny signed us up for vaulting.

"What Is vaulting" asked Jade when aunt Penny told us when we got back from dressage "it's acrobatics on horses," said aunt Penny. Jade isn't good on standing on a horse shes tried before she almost got a broken leg.

"But I can't stand on a horse" protested Jade "well I've already signed you up for it deary." Jade sighed and said: "when is it, aunt Penny" I was relieved when she said: "in a few months, so, you have time to practice."
