Aryln rode her black horse away from her castle home on Alfheim. Several warriors from Asgard led her to an open clearing. As a princess, Aryln was able to, and pretty much required to marry other royalty. She was being chosen for one of the Asgardian princes, Thor, or Loki. Aryln bit her lip nervously, and folded her angel wings close to her body. Before the Asgardian men had come to get her, she had just finished talking to Loki, through a magic mirror. They had spoken to each other for many years, each telling the other secrets, that no one else knew, and having a fondness for each other, had desired to be with each other. However, there was a slight problem. Because of her heritage, being an angel meant that she had a soul orb. Her soul orb would lead her to her mate, and bind them for eternity. If her soulmate was not Loki, she would most likely lose him forever. Aryln wiped a tear from her dark brown eyes, fearing the worst. She did know that her soul orb had pointed her in the direction of Asgard, which was hopeful. Once she and the warriors reached the clearing, the sky opened up. A rainbow of light descended upon them, and they were transported to Asgard via the Bifrost. When Aryln opened her eyes, she found herself in a golden dome-like structure. In the center, there stood a golden dressed black skinned man with a golden sword.

“Greetings, Angel Princess Aryln, of Alfheim. Welcome to Asgard. I am Heimdall, Keeper of the Rainbow Bridge, also known as the Bifrost.” the man said.

“Come, Princess Aryln,it would not be wise to keep the Alfather waiting,” said one of the warriors. Aryln nodded, and urged her horse to follow the lead warrior. The others followed. As they rode through the huge golden gateways, Aryln marveled at their intricate designs. As they reached the last gate, the lead warrior dismounted, and Aryln did the same. The others looked at each other, slightly puzzled, but they dismounted as well. The warriors led Aryln to the enormous throne room. Odin sat on the throne, and his wife, Almother Frigga stood at his side. As Aryln walked towards the Alfather, she looked around, but she saw no sign of either of Asgard’s two Princes. However, Aryln could also sense that someone was watching her.

“Bring Thor and Loki. The Angel’s Princess has arrived,” ordered Odin. As he said this, the angel princess could feel that the hidden watchers were leaving. She had a sneaking suspicion that the watchers had been Thor and Loki. A few minutes later, the guard who had gone to fetch the Asgardian princes, came back with Thor and Loki. As they walked to stand beside her, Thor studied her. Loki glanced at her, showing her a soft warm smile, which calmed her nerves a little. Aryln returned the smile, and turned her attention back to King Odin as he began to speak once again.

“Thor, Loki, this is Aryln, Princess of the Angels, and the only heir of King Hermos. The Angels are a powerful race. It would be wise to have powerful allies, than enemies. Aryln will spend a week each, with both of my sons, Thor and Loki, unless, of course, the bond is initiated before then. As I recall, according to the Angel customs, an angel’s soul orb will point their owner in the direction of their soulmate.  Yours led you here, am I correct, Aryln?” asked Odin.

“Yes, Alfather,” Said Aryln shakily. She brought her wings closer to try to stop her trembling. Her fear of losing the only one she had ever known to truly care for her, was circling within her mind.

“Her soul orb will chose one of you, Thor, or Loki. Once you are bonded, neither of you will be able to leave the other. Loki,” said Odin, addressing the trickster god in green.

    “Yes?” answered Loki.

“You will be the first. Remember that she is to stay with you during your week. Do you understand?” asked Odin. He looked firmly at Loki.

“Yes,” said Loki, taking Aryln’s  hot trembling hand in his steady cool one. He heard her gasp slightly. Odin looked at Aryln, who stood still, and quiet. Aryln’s aura was glowing brighter, and golden glittering dust, swirled toward her.  Loki squeezed her hand, and she snapped out of her trance.

“ I understand,” said Aryln, her heart pounding. She struggled to hide the growing light from her skin in contact with Loki’s. She knew, aside from her  intense feelings for Loki, the great heat from her locket that held her soul orb told her that he was the one. She felt her body heat rise, and she knew she didn’t have much time left, before she lost control. She turned her head and she found herself looking into those deep vibrant blue eyes, of the man she loved. All at once, the windows opened, and a strong gust of winds blew fiercely. She slowly rose up, her eyes now glowing with pure white light. Sparkly black dust emerged from where her heart was in her chest. Loki let go of her hand, and she opened her locket that held her soul orb. Her soul orb floated out, a golden sphere with an emerald glow. The sparkly dark dust swirled around the levitating soul orb. Aryln sighed, then blinked, and her eyes, were their normal dark brown color, and calmly, she turned to Loki. All of those who were in the room, watched with intense curiosity. Aryln held out her hand to Loki. Loki paused, for a second, then took her hand. Aryln, slowly descended back to stand back on the floor.

“Loki?” Aryln asked. Loki looked up at her.

“Yes?” Loki answered. The swirling dust currently was slowly swirling around Aryln’s soul orb.

“Will you... be mine?” Aryln looked deep into his eyes, and the dust stopped. Loki pulled her closer to him, until, he could feel her breath on his face. With his right hand, he caressed her face.

“Of course, Aryln, always,” Loki told her, and he kissed her. The moment he uttered those words, the sparkling black dust started circling the orb, and circled faster and faster, until, it had binded, becoming a black male ring with golden intricate design on the left side spelling Aryln’s first name, and a large emerald in the center. Before it fell, Aryln held out her left hand, and she caught it as it dropped. Her feet reached the floor and the winds died down. Aryln and Loki ended the kiss. Aryln slipped the ring into his left ring finger. Upon contact with Loki’s skin, the golden design on the right side changed and morphed to spell Loki’s name. Aryln smiled, as she pulled down her left sleeve, showing Loki’s symbol etching itself onto her arm. Loki was now bonded to Aryln, and she to him.
