Aryln and Loki followed Thor past many training warriors, heading toward four of which Thor knew personally. As Thor approached them, the dark haired one of the three males in combat was the first to notice the elder Prince of Asgard. He signaled to his friends, that Thor had arrived. All 4 of them sheathed their weapons, and they advanced toward their friend.
“Ah, Thor, so nice to see you! And who is this pretty lass?” asked Fandral, noticing Aryln. Aryln blushed shyly, and drew closer to Loki. Behind her she could hear the gasps of the men and women, who had finally noticed her. Her cheeks turned a brilliant rosy shade of pink. And she grasped Loki’s left arm. The whispers came closer, and in her nervous state, she inadvertently began squeezing Loki’s arm.
“Aryln, it will be ok, my dear,” Loki whispered softly to her. Hogun heard Loki speak and knew who she was. Thor though, was the one to announce it.
“This is Princess Aryln of the Angels of Alfheim. She is bonded to my brother, Loki, who will one day be their king. Sif,” he said addressing his female warrior friend, ”Have you seen Tyre today? My father Odin wishes to know how well skilled she is in combat.” Sif smiled, and she pointed towards the far tent.
“Welcome to Asgard, Princess Aryln,” Sif told her. Aryln looked at Sif.
“Please, just call me Aryln. I am no different than you, except for the wings, of course. I would very much like to be friends with you,” Aryln asked. Sif grinned.
“Of course, Aryln.”
“Thank you, Sif, I look forward to seeing you again.” Aryln followed Thor towards the far tent. Inside, Lord Tyre was helping a young man with fitting a set of armour.
“There you go young man, it should fit better now. Go out, and continue your training.” Tyre slapped the young man with good intentions, before turning to Thor. “And how may I help you, young Thor ? Who is she? I don't think I have ever seen her before,” Tyre asked. Thor turned to Aryln, and gestured to her.
“This is Princess Aryln of the Angels, of Alfheim. She is to marry my brother Loki in two days. Father wishes to know what she is capable of. Can you help us?” Thor explained. Tyre was silent for a few minutes, and tears sprang to his eyes.
“Lord Tyre, is there something wrong?” asked Thor worried. He had never seen Tyre cry before. Lord Tyre wiped away his tears. Aryln meanwhile had been studying him, and she realized who he was. “Tyren?!” Aryln asked. Tyre nodded, much to the confusion of the Asgardian brothers and their friends. Aryln turned to Thor and Loki. “One of my people was bonded to a young man whose name we were told was Tyren. Tyren and Felicia were almost inseparable. Then Felicia died during childbirth, leaving him with a tiny angel baby. Tyren knew nothing about taking care of an angel infant, so he gave it to my Uncle Jenis, and my Aunt Lela, who was Felicia’s sister. What we didn’t know, was that Tyren, was Tyre!” explained Aryln. Loki and Thor nodded, now understanding. Lord Tyre looked at Aryln.
“How is Perina?” he asked her. “Cousin Peri is doing well. She knows, just as all angels instinctively know of their parents,” Aryln assured Tyre. He looked at her quizzicaly.
“You mean… she knows that I am her father?” asked Lord Tyre. Aryln smiled.
“Ever since she could talk, she's wanted to see you. You should go see her.” Lord Tyre nodded.
“I will have Sif and the Warriors Three see what you've got.” Lord Tyre looked at Sif, and she nodded.
“Show me the way,” said Aryln. Sif walked back out of the tent, back to the main arena. Sif walked casually over to a vacant spot, and whipped around, her sword swinging. Aryln barely moved a muscle and her own sword blocked Lady Sif. Sif was a bit surprised at Aryln’s reflexes. She attacked again, but just as the first time, Aryln was already prepared for her. All the other warriors stopped their fighting, and gathered around them. After about five minutes, Sif signaled for Fandral to join. Fandral did so, but found his attacks to be blocked, as well as Lady Sif’s. Aryln was easily fending off two attackers, and both Sif and Fandral knew it. Sif signaled to Volstagg to join. Again, Volstagg could not distract Aryln, who throughout this fight, still had not broken a sweat. Lady Sif, Fandral, and Volstagg couldn't believe it. Everything they gave her, she was already prepared for. They even added Hogun into the mix, and still, she prevailed. The look on Aryln's face was that of peace. Right before Sif was going to signal to stop, Aryln finally went from defense, to offense. In a split second, Aryln moved from her position in the center, and began to circle the four warriors. In one minute, she had knocked Volstagg down, stolen Fandral's sword, knocked Hogun unconscious, had flipped away Sif's sword, and had her own sword and Fandral’s stolen one both pointed at the most vulnerable parts of a woman. Sif put her hands up in protest. Before Sif could say anything, Thor’s hammer Mjolnir came flying towards Aryln, who in one move sent Fandral's sword rocketing into it’s sheath, put hers in it’s sheath, and caught Thor's hammer. The strangest part, was that she didn’t go flying. Aryln stood there, holding Mjolnir. Everyone gasped. That wasn't supposed to happen. How was she able to hold it? Loki walked over to Aryln.
“May I?” He asked. Aryln nodded, and he pulled her chainmail sleeves up to her shoulders. Everyone gasped. All along her forearms were silvery glowing symbols. Thor blinked, as Hogun finally said, “She is the lost heir of the Valkyrie Queen!”
