I'm sure they would appreciate a thoughtful letter from you to brighten their mail among all those boring bills. It could just be letting them know what you've been up to or making sure they are alright. But whatever the reason, its nice to write what you think down.
You don't have to send it. But maybe you've got some things that you need to get off your chest? Write a letter and explain how you feel to someone, even if that letter ends up hidden away in a bottom drawer unread by anyone but you.
