Requested by no one, just got bored.

We met once before I became a phantom. Now when I say phantom, I mean a form of ghost, not one of those freaky things from Superman's Phantom Zone.

The thing is that I didn't remember a thing about myself after I died, once you die all your memories are gone. But I was oddly attracted to this girl, Batgirl to be truthful, I felt like we met before.

So one night, I decided that I'd try to get in contact with her, but of course she couldn't see me since I'm a ghost.

There was this one other man, he is well known by the spirit realm. All the other ghosts I speak to almost always talk about this man.

John Constantine.

I've been told he could either help me, or end me.

And so that is why I'm in front of him, and he is currently pointing a shiny knife at me.

"What is it spirit? Trying to possess me? It won't wor-" He tried to explain but I interrupted.

"I want to be visible" I asked.

He kinda stood in confusion before putting his knife away, and began rubbing the bridge of his nose.

"Look, you can't unless it's for a proper reason. You can't just be visible because you wanna" He stated, pulling a cigarette out of his pocket.

"It is for a reason Mister Constantine, please" I begged.

As he lit his cancer stick, he looked me in the eyes.

"Fine" He answered, his cigarette began to burn a bright yellow before he blew a bright smoke in my face, and just like that, he disappeared.

I was unsure at first but after running into a hobo I realized that I was now visible, it was either that or the hobo was high.

After sitting on top of a roof for many hours, the night fell fully, and there the group went.

First it was Batman, then Robin who was followed by Batgirl. Tonight was my chance.

I followed the group from above, making sure they wouldn't spot me, until they all stopped in one spot.

They seemed to chat to each other before splitting up, Batman went with Robin while Batgirl seemed to stand there, but then she dropped to her knees with a soft cry.

"Are you okay miss?" I asked as I flew down to her.

She seemed to jump a little before seeing my face.

"Y/n?" she asked, slowly walking towards me.

"I don't know who that is but really, Batgirl, are you okay?" I asked again, putting my hand on her shoulder which seemed to easily make contact.

"There is no more Batgirl Y/n, I just got fired" She finally replied, taking off her cape.

I grabbed the cape before she let it blow off into the wind.

"Again, I don't know why you keep calling me Y/n and I didn't think being Batgirl was something you could be fired from" I explained, wrapping the cape around my arm.

"... I was shot at the other day, and not while I was suited up either, it was in my own home. But yo- I mean my neighbour, he tackled the shooter to the ground. But then my neighbour took the entire shotgun round to the heart, he died on the spot for me" She explained as we went from rooftop to rooftop till we reached a tall apartment building.

"Wow, brave guy huh. I don't think I'd ever be able to do something like that" I explained as we got onto the apartment's roof.

She seemed to give me a weak but still amused kind of smile.

"You'd be amazed by what people can achieve when others are in danger" She taught me, a soft smile still on her face.

We arrived at her apartment door, a note was left on it.

It read "Hey Barbara, I have to work for a couple of days so I'll be at the station. I got you enough food and drinks for the week, keep the doors locked and don't answer for anyone, much love -Dad".

She laughed a little before opening the door and went towards her room.

"So your Dad lives with you?" I asked as I waited outside her room for her to finish changing.

"No, he just wants me to stay here while the police investigate the shooter incident, even though I already know it was the Joker" She explained, exiting her room in some pajamas that had many little cat prints on them.

"Heh, cute" I snickered a little as she went to the couch.

"Oh shut up. Look... we need to talk about something" She stated.

I floated over and sat beside her.

"Of course we need to talk, why would Batman fire you?" I asked.

"Not what I was originally meaning but I guess we could talk about that... After the attack, Batman and Robin decided that it was too risky for me to be apart of the team anymore... Which I understood completely but the problem is that I know they booted me off the team because they know I have a personal hate for Joker now, much deeper than before" She explained, grabbing onto my hand casually.

I blushed a little, as much as a ghost could.

"But all he did was kill your neighbour, yes that sounded kinda rude but he has killed many more, why is it that this time it's so personal?" I asked.

"... I fell in love with my neighbour. He would always bring me leftovers if he had cooked too much for himself, he'd often come over and play videogames in our free time and... he's the only person I trusted with my vigilante identity who wasn't also a vigilante" She answered.

We sat in silence for awhile before Barbara suddenly kissed me, we both melted into it before she pulled away.

"Y/n?" She asked.

"Yes?" I replied... Y/n replied... I replied.

"OH MY FUCKING GOD I'M Y/N! I WAS KILLED BY THE JOKER?! AHHHHH!" I yelled as I had some form of mental breakdown.

"Whoa whoa Y/n, calm down. You aren't COMPLETELY dead" Barbara explained.

I hugged Barbara, and she hugged me back. We'll have to sort this out.

Hopefully.
