Today was Monday which means the pageant is today

"You're still not dressed up" Said Vince frowning

"After breakfast i'll go change, you can go first." I said eating my toast bread

"Let's go together" He said

"No you go first, I have something else to do and you might get let your partner waiting" I said shooking my head

"But-" Before he could continue I cut him off

"Just go first okay?" I said giving him a smile

"Alright" He said letting out a sigh.

I look at the clock and its already 9:07 am, Vince already head to school

Mom and Dad already got to work so I was the only one left on the house

I head to the Quartz's headquarters to train myself, I was punching the punching bag with all of my force when someone entered the room

It was Alex.

He was shocked when he first saw me but he decided to shake it off, he head into the other room to practice archery I guess.

I look at my watch and it was already 12 pm, which means its lunch time

I decided not to have lunch and continued to practice with knives

Goddamnit I suck at knives.

I was practicing peacefully when Alex came next to me to practice knives aswell, I decided to ignore him when the knife I threw flew back and hit my arm but the cut wasn't that deep

"Ouch" I hissed

"Are you okay?" He said with worry in his eyes

"I-Im okay." I said walking away

"But its bleeding" He said following me

I decided not to say anything and look at him

"Why didn't you go to the pageant?" I said glaring at him

"Come on Venelope your wound is-"I then cut him off

"Its just a would Alex for fuck's sake!" I said with anger

He stared at me then let out a sigh

"Is.. Is it.." He then messed his hair stressfully

"Is what?" I said confused

"Is true that you just want to take my place?" He said with sadness in his eyes

"What?! Who said that?" I said with anger and shocked at the same time

Okay since when did I have the interest of being a gang leader?

"Just tell me, is that true?" He said

"No! I dont want to take your place! The reason I joined this gang is because of my brother!" I then let out a sigh

"Alex I dont like gangs or mafia or anything that includes danger, the reason I joined this so I can take care of my brother if something wrong will happen to him" I added, then looked at him with sadness

He didn't let out a word but he hugged me tightly

"I thought you're just like her" He said embracing me in his arms

"Her?" I said confused

"Its just a girl. Now let's put some bandage in your arm" He said pulling away from the hug

Oww but I want more hugss :((

I nodded and followed him to the clinic.

"So is this the reason why you didn't attend the pageant?" I said looking at him while he was putting bandages on my arm

"I guess." He said shrugging his arms

I decided to watch him for a moment until my phone rang, I looked at the callers ID and it was Vince, I let out a sigh then answered it

"Where are you?" He said with worry

Oh shit what am I going to say?

"M-My skirt got ripped off, so I decided to go home and change" I said while my heart racing

Oh God I should probably stop lying, I can't handle the guilt anymore.

"But th-" Before he could say anything I cut him off

That's it im going to the pageant.

"I'll be there in a minute." I then hang up and head outside the clinic

"Hey! Wait up!" Shouted Alex catching up to me

"Im going." I let the scanner run to my hands and let the metal door open by itself

"Okay im going too." He said

"Alright i'll see you at the pageant then" I then winked at him

"No, we'll go to the pageant together" He said opening his car door for me

Ooh okay I like where this is going.

We arrived at the pageant late, but fashionably late. Eheh.

Alex kicked the door wide open and which made everyone focused their eyes on us, I glanced at my watch and it was already 2:08 pm

Yup we're literally late.

"Alex im getting nervous on this, why did you have to kick the door?" I said whispering but loud enough for him to hear

"I thought it would make a good move" He said shrugging

The DJ played some music and a light bemead into us

I decided to play it cool and so as Alex but he was much more confident, we sat at a table with Vince, Kyle, Cole, and with their partners

"Late but fashionably late" Said Vince smirking at me

"Indeed." I said taking a sip on the water

"You do know the pageant will end soon, right?" Said Kyle giving Alex a confused look

"Yeah we know" Said Alex shrugging

"Alright everyone listen up!" Said Mr.Vasquez, the school's principal

"We are now deciding if who will be the spotlight of this event and Mr. and Ms. Vintage" He added

"I hope it will be me" Said Kyle smiling widely

"And the spotlight of this event is.." Said Mr.Vasquez opening the small envelope

"Venelope Salazar!" The crowds then cheered and applaused

"Me?" I said confused

"Yes its you!" Said Alex clapping aswell

"Come to the stage and claim your crown!" Said Mr.Vasquez with joy

I walked up to the stage and grabbed the Boquet set of flowers then a random girl putting a crown on my head

"Thank you" I mouthed Mr.Vasquez and he gave me a nod, I head back to our table and saw Kyle frowning

"Dont worry you're still the most handsome guy I met" I said smiling to him and put the crown into his head

"Yeah I guess" He said pouting.

The pageant went well and it was 5:00 pm which means, it was the ending of this event

"Enjoy your night kids!" Said Mr.Vasquez then turned the mic off and head backstage

"Come on let's go home" I said walking with Vince

"Also, um.." Said Vince shyly

"I borrowed your car" He added while smiling at me sheepishly

"Oh its okay" I said shrugging

"I know you're just going to impress your partner" I added then gave him a smirk.
