An Apology!

"Aoi! Are you even listening?" Yashiro squeaked towards her best friend, who was watering plants.

"Of course, Nene-chan! You can't find your friends." Aoi replied, giving her signature, sweet smile.

"Yeah! But.. I haven't seen them in hours!.. i'm starting to get worried..."

"Maybe.. they're ignoring you, Nene-chan."

"You really think so?"

"Yeah.." she responded quietly.

".. you'd never ignore me, right, Aoi?"

"I'd never!" she smiles sweetly.

Yashiro smiles back, continuing to think of Hanako and Kou while helping Aoi with the plants.

"Hanako.. are you sure it's alright to leave her alone for until we're done?" Kou turned towards Hanako, who was squinting at a book.

"of course it's alright." he wanted to bake donuts for the three of them, of course with Kou's help. He still wanted to apologize from the time Yashiro brought donuts. He ruined them.

Hanako begin to stir the whisk, but Kou noticed how rough he was (AT MIXING) and immediately grabbed Hanako's wrists. "wh-" "Stir like this,," Kou guided the shorter boy, stirring slowly as he held a soft grip on his wrist. "oh.." He figured it out, but Kou didn't let go. "Kou..?" "O-Oh, sorry." It took him a second to respond, "It's alright." an faint blush covered Kou's cheeks. He felt embarrassed.

Time passes, and the oven beeps. Both Hanako and Kou reached for the handle, but they both end up colliding. Minamoto lightly giggles, finding humor from it. That earned shock from Hanako. "Why are you laughing?" "Sorry- It's just a little funny.. heh.." Kou spoke as the giggles faded, he didn't make eye-contact with the other, feeling awkward now. He stood, "You can go ahead and open it. I'll grab the tray." As the smaller boy opened the oven door, Kou grabbed a mitt and reached for the tray, slightly burning himself. "F*ck!" Kou cursed, holding his hand, he wasn't expecting the heat to travel through the mitt that quickly. Hanako stared for a second before grabbing ice from the freezer, and handed Kou the cubes. "I'm not an expert on this stuff, but this should cease the pain a little." Kou stared for a second before laying the cubes on his hand, "t-thank you." "Yup. ... Don't do that again." he warned, Kou nodding as a response.

They waited for the donuts to cool off, after the wait, Kou test-tasted. "Mm! Better than last time!" He smiled, his canine teeth showing a little. That caught Hanako's attention. Why? Why was he suddenly adorable that way? ... He must've zoned out, he didn't realize that Kou had been trying to get his attention. "..anako?" "Oh! Hmm??" "Want to try it?" Kou handed out a donut, the boy nodding. Hanako took the donut, and bit it. It almost seemed as if his eyes sparkled after swallowing, Kou loved that, he didn't know why, he just did. It was like something warm inside sparked. And he couldn't shake it. "It's wonderful! Ha!" Hanako smiled, widely. It was honestly like heaven melting in his mouth. The bland donut giving off the best flavor, even though nothing was really on it. He must've had a mood change from this, he felt all warm and fuzzy inside. "Thank you!" Hanako smiled a little more(is that even possible?) and hugged Kou. "Huh? What do you mean 'thank you'? You did this too!" Hanako's happiness in his eyes made Kou smile. A small blush flushed his cheeks. He loved it. "Yeah,, but I still thank you." Silence. "Let's go give some to Yashiro." Kou's red cheeks faded slightly. "Yeah." Hanako didn't like how Kou didn't have any enthusiasm in his sentence. But he decided not to mention anything, or ask. They needed to get to Yashiro. It had been over 4 hours.

A minute later, Hanako went up stairs to the roof, exactly like last time. .. Kou went to find Yashiro, which was pretty quickly. It was getting late so he assumed he'd find her about to walk outside. After convincing her not to leave, he brought her to the roof without context. "Kou, what is it?" "just wait." When Yashiro and Kou walked out from the stairwell's doors, they had noticed Hanako didn't have his hat on. His hair blew in the wind, as the sun reflected perfectly off his hair. A small sparkle blinked in his big, amber eyes. A perfect smile, ear to ear.

Yashiro ruined the silence, and the way Hanako looked perfect. "Hanako-kun! Where have you guys been all day??" He looked at her, with the same smile. He held up the donuts and said, "Me and Kou made these! I wanted to apologize about before.." "Oh!" Yashiro looked at the donuts, with a sort of gleam in her eye. "Awe! Thank you Hanako-kun, Kou-kun!" She grinned, as she went over to the boy, taking a donut and trying a bite. Kou followed behind her, smiling. "It's really good!! You two are the best at cooking..!" she exclaimed through a mouthful of donut. "You are too!" Kou complimented from behind her. "That was all you, Kou-kun! I just helped." "Mhm.." he said with a grin. After that, they shared the rest of the donuts, as well as a nice conversation.

It had gotten dark, and Yashiro went home, but before Kou could, he had to ask. "Hanako.. what's it like without me and Senpai here?" .... "If you think I'm lonely here, I'm not. I have the Mokke! .. and the other mysteries." Hanako gave a convincing smile. "Oh.. alright then.. goodbye, Hanako." "goodbye, boy." Hanako smiled, waving. Kou returned the favor,, and headed downstairs, and down to the front. He grabbed his stuff and walked down the streets, following the path home. Once he arrived, he tried to be a little sneaky by opening and closing the door slowly, hoping his brother wouldn't notice. But it looked like his brother was already waiting for him. "have you been with that apparition?" "What? No! I was only baking with Yashiro again." "Mhm.. .. just get changed. It's late." Kou looked at the clock, it read, 10:58 PM. Damn, he left that late? How did the school not kick him out earlier??

HANAKO'S POV

Gonna be honest.. It WAS lonely without them there. I mean, he wasn't lying to Kou. He did have the mokke, and the other mysteries. But what good does that do him? The mysteries hardly talk to him because he's 'perverted' and the mokke just give out stupid fucking candies. He--

"You know~.. if you're lonely,~" a voice crept behind him, as well as a small giggle. "We can just play, you know, like we used to. before you killed me?~"  Hanako gasped.
