old hanakou story ;; 'something new'

A Dream.

"Nene?" Aoi whispered from a couple of desks away. Her face turned red, as she ran out of the room, tears forming in her eyes.

(this may get angsty, sorry, the songs I'm listening to just give me this angsty vibe)

"Hanako-kun! Why would you do that??" Yashiro turned around, facing the boy, who's smile before completely changed into a frown. She must've been having a bad day. "Yashiro, I'm—" She interrupted him, "You what??" She raised her voice, getting a few stares from kids down the hall. Hanako froze, he hadn't ever heard her talk like that.
"Yashiro Nene." An adult spoke with a stern tone behind her, who she then turned to. Yashiro made a small glance back to Hanako, who was now gone. (I'm sorry- cringe.)

After class, Kou showed up to the bathroom, finding Hanako staring outside, he seemed.. upset. "Hanako?"  "Yess?~" The boy turned to the other, slightly smiling. Didn't seem so upset anymore.
The smile felt so contagious, Kou couldn't resist to return a smile. "Where's Yashiro?" Hanako looked away, "I don't know, she'll show up soon, I hope."
A few minutes pass, "Sooo..~" Kou looked at Hanako, "What do you want to do while waiting?" Hanako thought for a moment, "I dunno..~ How about we play a game?~" he grinned, causing Kou's cheeks to turn a shade of pink. "What kind of game?" Kou asked, looking up at the other, who was now very close to his face. "How about..~" The small boy whispered in a low voice, The other's face was now completely red. "Truth or Dare!" Hanako finished his sentence all innocently, pulling away and smiling. "sure.." Kou responded, looking at Hanako, his face still red as f**k. ".. Truth or dare, boy." Hanako grinned. "Dare." Kou wasn't no p*ssy. "Hmmm..~," Hanako thought for a second, "Tell me how you feel about me." Hanako pointed his thumb towards himself, grinning. Kou's face reddened, "um.." he mumbled. "Whattt?~ You scared or something?" Hanako leaned in closer. "N-No! That isn't it! I'm not scared of anything." Kou defended himself. "I think of you.. as an amazing boy. I like you.. a lot. A-As a friend..-!" He defended himself again, there. "Huh.." Hanako's cheeks flushed a faded pink. "Well, your turn!" Hanako smiled, Kou, smiling back, his red cheeks have faded to a lighter red by now. "Well then, truth or dare?" Kou's smile widened. "Truth!" The boy replied, the taller one giving the 'Seriously?' face. "What? Scared of choosing dare?" Kou asked, grinning now. "No-! I meant dare, I meant dare!" Hanako yelled back, all flustered. The blonde boy giggled, honestly loving the reaction. "Okay~ I dare you to ... try and scare my brother."  "What?-"  "I couldn't think of anything."  "Pff- Alright. Where is he anyway?"   "𝗑𝗑𝗑 class."  "Okay!" Hanako walked off, Kou following behind. Once they reached the class, Hanako snuck up behind Minamoto, tapped him on the shoulder, and whisper something spine-shivering in his ear. It didn't seem to phase him. Causing quite a shock(ha.) for him when Teru pulled out his blade. Hanako made a small noise as he hopped back and went behind Kou. "Wha.." he looked down at Hanako behind him. The smaller boy walked out from behind him, heading for the bathroom now, casually. Confused, he follows, glancing at his brother, who is continuing his work with the class as if nothing happened.
They continued to play before a bell ring, it was the last class. After that class, he came back to Hanako, Yashiro not far behind. The boy didn't say anything, just looked out the window. "Hanako-kun.. I-.." "I'm sorry, Yashiro." He interrupted, glancing at her with soft eyes. Kou wasn't going to get in the middle of whatever they were having, so he stood off to the side. He closed his eyes, what he thought would only be a few seconds. He felt really exhausted, especially from the game him and Hanako played earlier. He began to fall asleep, tipping to the side slightly. (who falls asleep standing up?) The apparition caught a glance, and immediately went over to keep Kou from falling over and hurting himself. That woke him up. "You should probably head home, Kou. You're tired." and just as he said that, he saw Teru outside, walking towards the front entrance. Hanako dragged the tall boy outside towards the other, "Make sure he doesn't fall asleep on the walk home." He looked up at Kou, who was looking down at him, silent. Minamoto didn't need him to say anymore, he held a hand on his brother's shoulder, pulling him close as they both walked out.

Kou's POV

I felt so confused, and still tired as my brother walked me home. I decide to lay my head on Teru's shoulder until we got there. But he had other plans, he bumped my head up, "can't have you falling asleep, Kou."

Later.

Once we got home, I immediately ran straight for my room and pounced on my bed. It felt really comfortable.. I situated myself in more of a comfortable position, and almost immediately felt myself drift into sleep. I heard Teru walk by, and flick my light switch off.
Once I finally drifted, It felt different. I looked around and could almost feel the light coming from the setting sun. It felt warm. Soon my entire body felt warm once I heard a similar voice. Hanako? I turn to see, and I see him. He's in the uniform, smiling. He's under a cherry blossom tree, looking beautiful as ever. He seemed to notice me, "Ah, Kou!" he smiled as he patted the spot next to him. I ran over, and sat down. He pointed towards the sky, "see that star?" it was quite unusual to see a star before the sun completely fades. Must've been a close planet or something. "It's called the ..." he continued on, I had completely quit paying attention to what he had to say about the star, and just stared at his beautiful face. "Heyy.. are you listening?" he lightly touched my nose to get my attention. "Yeah, I am." "Then what was I talking about?" "The star," I pointed. "What? I was talking about you.." I could feel my face warm up, I realized that Hanako had said the word pretty while talking about the star. "I'm just kidding," he giggled, booping my nose again, "you got it right~" he smiled, turning his attention back to the star. Silence continued. That was until I felt someone shaking me awake.
"Huh..?" I mumbled. "Kou. It's past 7:30 AM." Teru noted, walking out the room once he noticed i woke. 7:30? In the morning? It felt like only a few minutes..
Whatever. I got dressed and walked out my room. Usually I'd fix breakfast, but I can't be late. I head out the door, it was raining. I proceed to sprint to school, knowing I'd get soaked. Honestly, I wish that dream could continue forever..

(and i wish i wouldn't be so cringey. anyways, thats the end of this chapter. sorry it was a little long, i was really in the mood to write something.)
