"Until we meet again," they had said. 

The spark had been lit. A single kiss, soft and fleeting, made the strangers realize they wanted more. They were both dreamers, believers in fate. Hopeless romantics. They didn't make plans to see each other. They simply parted ways, hoping it was meant to be.

Only, they hadn't met in years. Life got hard, they got busy, they went their separate ways. 

She moved to Italy, opened a coffee shop down the street from her apartment. He got a job at a big corporation, working 10 hour days.

They lost touch.

She hadn't thought about him in years, ever since she moved across the Atlantic. She had started a new life and had stopped waiting for fate to work its magic. 

That was, until she looked out the window of her quaint coffee shop, and found herself staring at that handsome stranger from years ago. He was walking past, in his tailored navy blue suit, a silver watch shining on his wrist. He hadn't noticed her, but she sent a silent prayer up to Fate that he would. 

He was almost past the window, almost out of her sight, when her attention was drawn away by a woman waiting to order. She served the woman, but when she glanced back up to where he had been, he was gone.

Sighing, she turned to make the woman's drink. The bell over the door announced someone arriving. She called out, saying she'd be with them in a moment. She handed the cup to the woman and turned back to the register, only to meet the eyes of the man she once kissed. 

"Something told me I'd want to walk in here," he said with a smile.

"So we meet again," she replied.
