Luna's p.o.v.

I studied the veins in my wrist as the xanax I took started to take me over. My first day of school was over, and I needed to relax for a little bit in my room. I put on some music and shut my eyes, waiting for my heart to stop racing. Sometimes, I truly did feel like I was crazy, or at least on the verge of it. It's not normal to be as anxious as I am, and to self medicate as much as I do. But what else am I to do? I couldn't possibly live like this. My only resolve is to steal my dad's xanax and hope things get better.

He doesn't need those xanaxs anyways. He lives a carefree lifestyle, and it shows. I felt anger pass over me as my dad crossed my mind, but sleep overtook me. The next thing I knew, it was 10 p.m., and Sage was calling me. I picked up.

"Hello?" I muttered.

"Hey sleepy head, get up. I just woke up and Dominic wants to go to a diner to hangout. I figured I'd invite you because he was asking about you and it seems like he really wants to meet you. Plus I'm sure today was overwhelming for you, and I think you need to get out of the house."

"Okay... I'll get ready now." I said groggily.

"Alright. Dominic is gonna drive us over to pick you up in like 15?"

"Okay, I'll see you soon." I said, and then hung up. I rolled out of bed. I pulled on my high waisted levis and my green turtle neck, along with my white converse. I made sure my favorite necklace was still on, the one that my mom left behind. I wet my long wavy red hair a little to defrizz it, fixed my eye liner, then proceeded to wait outside for Dominic and Sage. Sage always talked about how sweet Dominic was. Him and his mom were pretty well known in this town for being kind hearted, loving people. I know a lot of girls like him, but Sage never exhibited any interest in him, I think because she sees him as a brother. Dominic also seemed too involved with other things to give any girl a second glance. He was nice, and hard working. I admired it.

Dominic and Sage pulled up in his rusty, yellow mustang. I hopped in the backseat and buckled up as Dominic put the car in drive and headed towards our town's diner. Once we were in and seated, with Dominic across from me and Sage, I introduced myself.

"Hello, Dominic, I heard you've been asking about me. I am the famed Luna." I smiled, biting my lip.

"It's so good to meet you," Dominic smiled. He had a big, genuine smile, with perfect teeth. A charming smile.

We spent the rest of the meal getting to know each other. Our laughter resonated in the quiet diner. Sage and I only ordered fries to split. The fries ended up going cold and uneaten, and Dominic offered to pay for the whole meal, since it really was just him eating. We accepted, got in the car, and drove back. Dominic dropped off Sage at her house.

"I can walk" I suggested, knowing that his house was right next door to Sage's and not wanting him to go out of his way for me

"Absolutely not. It is midnight and that is a four mile walk." He said. Concern lined his voice.

"I've walked crazier distances" I laughed.

"Oh yeah? Like when?"

"Well there was one time that my bike had been stolen, and I really wanted ice cream. So I walked. I walked 5 miles, got myself some ice cream, and then walked 5 miles back home." I bragged.

"Impressive. However, you will not be walking that distance so long as I have anything to say about it." Dominic proclaimed. I blushed slightly. That was sweet of him. He was a nice guy. And girls like me shouldn't be around nice guys like him. I started to go into my shell, anxiety taking over. I don't know him that well. This is weird and I'm being weird. I wish Sage was still in this car with us. This car ride could not be slower.
