For as long as I can remember. I  always used school as a coping mechanism to escape my troubles at home.

At the age of 4 I witnessed my father hit my mother for the first time. As young as I was I can vividly remember how the encounter went down. That seemed to haunt each and everyday.

The drunken bastard came home during the wee hours of the morning like he always has. Leaving a trail of destruction behind him as his heavy foot steps creaked loudly down the noiseless hallway that lead to the master bedroom.

"Get up bitch!" He yelled as he pulled my mother from up under the covers dragging by her long blonde tresses toward my room.

Releasing her only to kick open my door and turn the white bright light. Reattaching his grip, he dragged her into my room and proceed to beat her unmercifully in front of my own eyes.

She screamed and begged for him stop

"Not in front of my baby!! Please just not in front of Donnie" She pleaded but her cries of plead fell on death ears as he continued the inhumane deed.

Once he was satisfied with his monstrosity he turned to me spoke these chilling words I'd never forget.

"This is how we treat bitches who don't know or value their place in life. Take note son." He recited while kissing my head goodnight.

For the next 6 years I witnessed my mother received countless beatings from my sperm donor.

School was used as a get away from my family problems at home. While most kids dreaded the 7 hours of schooling. I enjoyed 7 hours of being away from the wrecked ship I called home.

From the outside looking in we appeared to be a prefect family. Hard working upperclassmen father, beautiful housewife and a young and fun loving son.

But on the inside it was a broken family hanging on to its last strings. The strings I prayed everyday would snag.

As harsh as it sounds everyday night and everyday I hoped and prayed my father would leave for work and never return. I prayed he went to sleep one night and wouldn't wake up; I prayed he'd get into a car crash on his way home and suffer in a hospital bed.

But on my 10 birthday I got the best gift I could ever ask for. An answer to my prayers. My mother packed all of our belongings and moved across the country away from my father. From California all the way to Florida .Why she suddenly decided that after 10 years she would finally leave? I have no clue, but I can tell you this.

This move was a fresh start for not only me but my mother as well.

From that day forward at the ripe age of 10 I took on the obligation of protecting my mother.

I wouldn't sit and watch like a weak bitch.
I would do everything in my power to protect her. From that day forward I was the man of the house.

But what I didn't know was that this move would allow me to make lifetime friendships, learn life lessons and most importantly love, it would show me what it's like to love someone so much it hurts to think about it. To love someone who was so close yet, so far away. To love someone and have them love you back.

This is the story of I Adonis king and Kayala Lovee and it begins now
