Melanie almost threw up. She read the note no less than 200 times. She had to save Ashley. They had her best friend. It’s on. Melanie screamed in her head.  No more games. No more not taking this seriously. Something changed in Melanie then. She kind of liked it to.  She walked out of the bathroom and sat down with a devious smile on her face. Justin looked at her. She gave him the most I’m all that smile.

Crocked nose guy sat in a semi circle with the others and stared at their prize in the middle. She was out cold but he still was excited about toying with Melanie. She was there key; Ashley was the closest thing to Melanie. They had her; they had the only person that Melanie would come after. He noticed movement from her limp body and quickly regained composure. She started to wake up and tried to move her wrists. She was bound and blindfolded. She started to panic. When she tried to scream she noticed her mouth was duck taped shut. “Welcome to the WWI Ashley.”

When Melanie woke up the next day she didn’t know where she was. When it all slowly came back to her she remembered why she was so scared and determined. Melanie was in a regular sized house that hunters rent. She got out of bed and felt the full force of the previous week. Melanie half limped half dragged herself to the kitchen. Everyone was finishing breakfast when she walked in. She told her mom she wasn’t hungry and asked if she could go for a walk. “Be very careful and take a gun.” Her mom was taking no chances. Melanie agreed and went for the walk. She had a lot of time to collect her thoughts. She found a large rock and planted herself. She worked out a plan for getting Ashley when she heard a noise behind her. She immediately jumped up and grabbed a tree branch and swung herself up. Melanie loved the rush of wind and remembered when her mom forced her to take gymnastics. Melanie pulled out the Pistol she was given and pointed it at the noise. The noise stopped and Justin stepped out. He walked around and sat by the water. Melanie enjoyed watching him and turned to put her pistol away. She smiled to herself thinking about him. Will entered her brain. Melanie shook her head and turned around. When she looked back he wasn’t there. She leaned to the side and whisper came to her ear. “You watching me?” Justin nearly gave her a heart attack. Melanie fell and Justin grabbed her wrist before she fell completely out of the tree and pulled her up. Kill me now. Melanie thought. She was so embarrassed. “What are you doing out so far?” Justin asked. Melanie looked at him for a second. Then he answered Melanie. “I can ask the same of you Justin.” Justin didn’t hesitate. “I was securing the perimeter.” She believed him. It felt weird to Melanie that they were just up in a tree, nothing strange about that. They looked out on the terrain for a couple of minutes. Justin finally broke the silence. “What are you thinking about?” Melanie was caught off guard. How did he know she was thinking about something? She didn’t know what to say. “I’m not thinking about anything out of the ordinary” Melanie replied sharply. Then she looked at him. He was smiling. Today was the day she might die. Her friend might die. She felt the necklace she had had since birth. She didn’t know why but she had always worn it. It has been past down for generations. It was a simple chain and a gem that said Forever. The engraving was unique in a way. “What are you planning?” How did he know! What is up with him? “Nothing, why do you ask.” Melanie wasn’t sure if those were the best words but they were already out. “You have a look of determination on your face.” Did she? She needs to be more convincing. I turned to him and said “Well there’s nothing”. Total lie. “What’s up? You are hiding something.” Nothing but seriousness across Justin’s face, this got Melanie nervous. He looked at her in the eye and leaned forward only to whisper “You are such a bad liar.” His mouth inches from her ear. Melanie could feel his breath. She wanted to open up and tell him everything, but she knew he would follow her to Ashley and the WWE. She looked back at him and said “Absolutely nothing.” Melanie looked away for a second and looked back at Justin who she has known since 4th grade and her leaned and kissed her. Those two seconds felt like eternity. Melanie held on to that kiss and looked straight into Justin’s eyes. He met her gaze and said in a low voice “Be careful.” Melanie looked down and back up and Justin was gone. Melanie screamed inwardly and smiled outwardly. What was that! Melanie thought. She had been waiting for that for two years and it finally happened. Melanie stayed out there for twenty more minutes and then walked slowly back to the cabin. On her way she looked at all the landscape and took it all in. She walked up the steps and noticed Lexi staring at her. “Yes” Melanie said cautiously. Lexi continued to stare at her. Melanie felt very uncomfortable. When Melanie stepped closer Lexi’s face turned into fear. “What’s wrong?” Melanie asked sternly. Melanie ran to her and noticed she was hardly even breathing. Melanie poked her and she fell over. Melanie whipped around when a sound at the door came. She pulled out her gun and cautiously walked to the noise. Melanie couldn’t see who it was but the person threw a rock at her. She quickly moved to avoid to but it came toward her again. It hit her foot and she let out a yelp. She noticed he had a piece of jewelry in his hand. She took her gun and shot at his hand. She got the finger that was holding the bracelet. The man swore and dropped it and ran out. Melanie took another shot at his leg but he avoided it and kept running. She heard him go away on a motorcycle. She wanted to shoot but he got out of range. Melanie picked up the bracelet and ran back to her sister. She looked at her arm where she was bleeding and saw a dart kind of thing. She knew this dart. It slows the breathing and if you don’t take it out within an hour the person will slowly die. The person would be aware of what was happening around them but paralyzed on the outside. Melanie knew this would hurt her sister. She pulled out the dart and her sister screamed. Melanie was flooded with relief. She wasn’t too late. Her mom must be out training with the boys somewhere. It would take a couple of minutes for Lexi to be able to talk. These people were getting on Melanie’s nerves. Come get us already! Melanie was so mad. What are they waiting for? Melanie almost fell over when the pain hit. She looked down at her feet and saw the difference. One was completely swollen. Melanie went to put ice on it. The ice felt amazing. She kept it on for a minute then put a blanket over her legs and limped back to Lexi. When she got there she saw that she was sitting now. She still couldn’t talk but was doing better. Lexi turned her head and Melanie smiled. Melanie sat across from her and covered her foot so Lexi wouldn’t notice. She put ice on it again under the blanket. Lexi looked at her in concern. “Oh, it’s nothing just stubbed it” Melanie said as if nothing had happened. She nodded and tried to speak. Melanie laughed at her failed attempt. She told her to not try to talk for another five minutes. Melanie felt like a bomb came and blew up her foot. Her bruises from the attack in her room were slowly fading. She really didn’t mind those. She still had to cover the ones on her face up. Melanie looked at her foot. The swelling had gone down. Still puffy, but her foot felt better. She quickly pulled on her socks when the door opened. She pulled her gun out and Lexi’s eyes shot up. Mr. Herlson and mom walked in the room. Mom was by Lexi in two seconds. “What happened.” Their mom asked in a furious voice. They looked at each other and Melanie said “Someone came and tried to steal a bracelet. I shot the finger that was holding the bracelet.” They left a blood trail. Melanie didn’t notice how badly the person would have been bleeding. The buys walked through the door and ran into the room and their mom quickly filled them in. The boys grabbed their guns and walked out to see if the person was still there. Their mom looked at Lexi and said “How did they get it from you.” Melanie answered for her. “They shot her with a mono dart. She is still recovering from when I pulled it out with caution.” Mr. Herlson looked at her then Lexi. He had a frown on his face. “You should have been way more aware.” Lexi looked at her feet. Mark walked in then. “Nothing, we found nothing only a blood trail leading to skid marks.” Melanie smiled at how much more out there he has become. There mom walked over and hugged the girls. “You guys are alright. I have nothing to worry about because you both are too good for them.” Their mom said looking them in the eyes. Melanie smiled at her tackiness. Their mom looked at all the boys that just entered. “Melanie, Lexi, Justin, Will, and Ben we need you to go somewhere under cover.” Melanie looked confused with her mom. What did she want them to do and without Chris and Mark. “Come with us.” Mr. Herlson said. Melanie could get used to his voice. They walked and Melanie limped to the secret stair case and went down to their floor. Melanie looked around at the table in the middle and chairs. Their mom motioned for them to sit down. Melanie thought the chairs was the most comfortable thins she has ever sat on for the last twenty four hours. Her foot felt better. They sat for a couple a seconds then their mom spoke. “Melanie, Lexi as you know your sixteenth birthday id tomorrow. All of you will be attending a boy’s party tomorrow. I know you don’t know any kids around here but Melanie does.” Everyone looked at Melanie and she smiled sheepishly. “A young boy with the name of Nick, we have no access to his last name. We need you to go see what he knows about the W.W.I. Melanie we are sending you and Lexi out tomorrow to get him and his friends to invite you. Just talk to them.” Their mom finished and looked at the girls. They both nodded. They could do that. Their mom looked at the guys. “You guys half to become friends with them. Also get them to invite you to their party.” They all nodded then. Mr. Herlson looked at them and started talking. We will be using a com unit again. You get the same things you got last time. When you find out anything you report it to us immediately.” They all nodded again. Melanie totally forgot about her birthday, especially her sixteenth birthday. Lexi and Melanie went to bed afterwards. The next morning Melanie got dressed and put on their designer sunglasses. She wore mid thigh shorts and a hot pink short sleeve shirt. She put on her necklace that had the mic and took off her forever necklace. Lexi put on her short shorts and a T-shirt with a scarf that totally made her look cute. They walked into the room and Melanie saw Alex in cacky shorts with a HOLLISTER shirt on He also still had his black and white hat. Will had jeans and a white T-shirt on with his phone. Ben came out in shorts and a T-shirt that didn’t look half bad. Finally Justin walked wearing jeans and a striped shirt that complemented him. He also had sunglasses and his pocket knife. They ran down the facts again and were off. Melanie and Lexi got a red convertible, Lexi drove. Alex got a mustang. Will got a motorcycle, and Justin and Ben got a jeep. They all went in different directions. They went to a movie theater where Nick normally spent his time and saw a movie. Melanie hated it but the guys seemed to enjoy it. There was too much killing for Melanie and Lexi’s taste. When it was over they were looking all around when she heard a voice behind her. “Fancy meeting you here.”  Melanie turned so fast she almost fell over. “Oh, hi Nick”
