Madhu's POV:
Iam very nervous. What am I going to do? Everything is going very fast. Noone cares to listen to me. Is that all? Oh my god!!
I didnt study this hard to gain entry into NY university so that I can get married and settle down in India. Iam too young. I want to see the world.
Soon the time came for me to go to the altar. She could nt help herself but shed a few tears. Yet hurriedly she blinked and kept them at bay so that no one will notice.
Her mom came to assist her to the altar along with dad. Seeing her they were so happy to see their only daughter getting married.
"I know you are not wholeheartedly into this marriage Madhu. But everything will be fine ok. Every couple starts like this. Its okay to be nervous. Its okay to be scared. Come you have to tie the knot within the holy time".Her mom consoled her and accompanied her to the altar.
She went and sat beside the waiting bridegroom and started chanting mantras alongside him. Not once did she look at him. She did everything she was asked to do.
Finally the moment of tying knot came and she raised her head and looked at him. Wow he was handsome and this dominant aura seems to radiate off him. Her heart skipped a beat. She was mesmerised.
Maybe because she never entertained the notion of love before marriage , she never felt like this. She has been proposed before but her heart never fluttered. May be the thought of him as her husband made her like this.
She is weird , she thought. The sense of someone belonging to her was exhilarating. She couldnt resist looking at him again. Is that anger that she sees??
What is he not happy with the marriage? Is he in love with someone else? Was he forced into this marriage?
The mere thought of him in love with someone else brought tears into her eyes. She hurriedly blinked them back. He tied the knot without looking at her. He applied sindhoor at her vermillion.
She is officially married. Everything is over now, she thought. The thought did not seem gloomy as before. She joined hands with her husband and circled the fire three times.
She went through all the rituals like a robot. She woke up at 2 in the morning and she was tired and cranky.Additional to that she was starving.
Everyone came and wished them a happy married life. She put on a fake smile and endured them all. Honestly she cant wait to go home and rest.
Her husband never attempted to talk to her and she returned the favour. Although she knew the basic details about him, she didnot know him....like at all. They have never spoken before and she was too shy to initiate a conversation. So she did what he was doing put on a smile and stand still.
All the rituals were finally over and the wedding couple started for their home. Madhu sat in the car beside him. He stared at her for some time. It was making her nervous. He took her hand and intermingled their fingers. He didnot release her hand . Both off them were looking through the window with their hands joined inbetween. She loved his feeling.
She saw through her window that this was not the way to her home. She panicked. Adhi understood what she is doing and scolded her " we are not going to your father's home we are going to ours".
At that moment she realised her fault. He has withdrawn his hands and turned to the window in anger. She missed his hands. She was never scolded before. Noone was ever angry at her and now HE is angry. That thought made tears leak through her eyes.
