I said "I do"...then fell in Love
Chapter 2*Katy's POV*
By the time I made it home from lunch with Jamie, the sky was dark gray instead of the clear blue it had been earlier. It seemed more like late evening than early afternoon. I texted Jordan to find out what time he would be home and put on a load of laundry. He said he would be home around five, so I decided to just throw a roast in the crock pot for an easy supper.
It started to rain within an hour, so I turned on the TV. I loved thunderstorms. My favorite way to spend a rainy afternoon when I had time for myself was watching a movie with a nice cup of coffee in hand. I settled on the couch with my favorite blanket and flipped the channels to a chick flick. Jordan hated them, so I only could watch them when he was working or doing something else. It wasn't a big deal. He loved action movies, and I did too, so I didn't mind holding off on chick flicks.
Half-way through the movie, I noticed the wind had picked up. I heard the garage door open and Jordan's truck coming in. He and his dad co-owned a landscaping business, so on a rainy day, there wasn't exactly a whole lot of work to do. Because they were the owners, they got to make their own schedule too. One of the things I loved most about Jordan was that he used that freedom to keep our family first. No matter what, Trey and I came before work. He made sure we always knew we were far more important to him than any job...such a great husband and father.
"Honey, I'm home!" my husband called when he came through the door.
"In the den," I replied, happy to have him back home with me.
He kicked off his boots and sat down on the couch next to me. He planted a kiss on my cheek and wrapped his arms around me. "Mm, I'm glad to see you," he said.
I turned and smiled. "I'm glad to see you too. Jamie took Trey home to play this afternoon, so we get a night to ourselves. Well, an afternoon and evening, really since you're home early."
He smiled back, his green eyes plainly showing his love for me. "That sounds nice. Except for this movie you've got going. I mean, really, baby?"
I laughed. "Only because you weren't home yet. We can totally watch something different."
He leaned forward and picked up the TV control. "How about we watch a movie then I'll take you out on a nice date tonight?" he offered.
"Well, I threw a roast in the crock pot already. And what about the rain?" I said.
Jordan gave me a sideways glance. "Put the roast in the fridge when it's done and you'll have supper for tomorrow already done. Besides, we haven't had a really nice date in awhile. Trey doesn't exactly like five-star restaurants, or dressing up for that matter. But you could put on one of your little black dresses, I'll even dress up too, and we'll go out like we used to pre-kid. It'll be fun."
I looked at my handsome man and couldn't help smiling. "I just love you. I would love to go on a date with you tonight."
We settled on an old war movie that we had seen a million times. I snuggled up next to Jordan, enjoying just being with him.

"Katy, are you ready?" Jordan called from our bedroom.
I grabbed my red lipstick off the counter and swiped it on quickly. "Almost," I answered. I looked myself over in the mirror. I had decided on my strapless, knee-length black dress and silver sandals. My wavy black hair was swept up into a loose french-twist, an elegant style Jamie had taught me. I didn't normally wear make-up, but tonight, I had decided to go all out, dressing to impress my husband.
