Chapter 7

**May's POV**

I walked up the hallway of my school. I felt so scared.

I walked to my locker and unlocked it. Jaime and Emma walked over to me.

"Hey!, May! Why did you leave in math class yesterday?" they both asked.

"I'll explain later guys. " I said to them as I walked towards Cody.

"Hey May! Why did you-"

"Cody, I am going to tell you why now,"I said, my voice shaking.

He nodded for me to go on.

I rambled on about my Drunk father and what my life was like at home. I lifted up my sleve to show him my scar from where he had hit me with a beer bottle.

Cody stared at me. His eyes were wide.

I shuffled my feet back in forth while he stared at me.

Finally he pulled me into a hug. "May, i'm sorry. I had no idea."

I looked at him.

"Cody, I didn't tell anyone yet. Only you." I smiled at him.

"Well, thanks. Soo.. Your living alone in your house now?"

" Yeah I am Cody, it's finally quiet in my house now."

"Yeah. you only live with your father now right?"

"Yeah... Now lets get to class Cody!" I yelled at him as the homeroom bell rung.

"It's only homeroon May!" he yelled after me as I ran up the hall.

That afternoon I told Emma, Jaime, and Amanda about my father.

They were shocked but they still supported me through it

all.

I stayed at Jaimes house that night and I was staying at Emma's tomorrow.

They had been nice to let me stay the night so I wasn't lonely in my old house.

**Cody's POV**

I Though about what May had told me.

Her father being drunk all the time? Her scars?

I hadn't known any of this until now?

I sighed as I kept thinking about May. I had a huge crush on her and She was So Kind, Sweet, and caring.

May, out of all people had a always drunk father?

I couldn't wrap my head around it.

At least she could stay at Emma and Jaime's some nights...

she had her money to help keep her horse so that was good.. But I kept thinking there was something else I could do to help her..
