"Oh-oh-oh
Oh-oh-oh
Yeah, I think it's finally, finally, finally, finally..."

-

On the second platform up, Clarke stops to remove her heels. She carries them in her free hand, using the other to hold onto Lexa.

When they finally reach the sixth floor, Lexa walks Clarke to her apartment door. Clarke leans back against it, looking at Lexa sweetly.

"You know something?" Clarke smirks.

"What?" Lexa's lips turn up adorably, and she squeezes Clarke's hand.

"That might have been the best date I've ever had," Clarke declares as though nothing has ever been more correct.

"...Same here."

"Wanna... stay the night?" Clarke suggests, releasing Lexa's hand and running her hands up Lexa's front. They come to stop behind Lexa's neck, "So you don't have to walk the rest of the way up to your apartment, of course."

"Of course," Lexa agrees, feigning innocence, "Why else?"

Clarke grins, pulling out her key and unlocking her door. They go inside together and head for the bedroom, suddenly feeling the weight of exhaustion at the mere sight of the bed. They get changed quickly and hop under the covers, neither of them bothering to remove their makeup. Clarke lays her head on Lexa's chest.

Clarke traces her fingers over Lexa's toned stomach, watching it rise and fall with her breathing for some time before she says what she was aching to say the moment Lexa started dancing with her.

"You know, after my last relationship, I think I was so... so scared of... of anything, really. I was scared of love. Scared of loving someone. Scared of... of losing anyone else. So I stayed away. From everything. And everyone. But... then you came into my life. Or, I guess technically, I came into yours. And you threw everything I knew for a curveball," Clarke confides.

Lexa doesn't say anything, and Clarke takes that as a sign to keep going.

"And I thought that that would be horrifying. I mean, to some extent, it is. But I can't imagine being anywhere else right now. I can't imagine not having you in my life now that I know what it's like to have you in it. So. Thank you. For being with me. Right now, and... hopefully for awhile."

Lexa still says nothing, urging Clarke to lift her head as she calls quietly, "Lexa?"

But Lexa is asleep. Clarke almost laughs, but she contains herself. She doesn't mind. They have all the time in the world.

Clarke lays her head back down, watching Lexa sleep as her own eyes begin to drift closed. Her only thought as she fades into darkness is that finally, she found someone she can love and be safe with.

Finally.
