Emily's POV
You never really know what you have until it's gone. She didn't. I thought that she could change but maybe I was wrong. She could never. She was stuck with the same brain, the same feelings that are trapped because she doesn't really feel anything at all. And I know that isn't her fault but she could've done things differently that was a choice. This is the story on how this girl broke my heart into a million pieces and never cared to piece it back up. 122 days of utter silence.

Today was the day. 3rd of September 2020. Emily was about to start her first day back at college for her Level 5 Uni degree. It had been 6 months since the world went into lockdown after a virus started killing people. Classes were cut short for the year until now. Everything had passed and a fresh new year of college was about to begin.
*Ring*
The sound of Emily's alarm woke her up suddenly. She groaned as she reached over to turn off the alarm and check the time on her phone.

7:00am read the time on her screen.
"Ugh really can't be bothered to get up" Emily said to herself.

After about a half an hour of scrolling through her phone and debating whether or not to go back to sleep she got up. She went to the bathroom, got her breakfast and did all the things she had to do on a morning before making it out the door.

Another 30 minutes had passed and Emily began what to choose to wear for today's occasion. This was her first proper day outside in 6 months.
She pulled black skinny jeans out of her wardrobe "Always jeans" she said while looking through all her t-shirts and hoodies.
"Should I wear a hoodie or just a t-shirt" thinking to herself.
She decides to go with a checkerd red and blue shirt with a plain white tee underneath it.
After she's done she brushes her dyed red short hair in the mirror while looking at herself. Her dull blue eyes telling a story of their own.
"Go in there and do work. Don't talk about the past 6 months. Don't talk about summer. Don't talk about her. Don't talk about anything" she quietly says to herself.

After 5 minutes she picks up her phone and sees its 8:14am.
"Oh shit I just missed the last bus. I have to make the next one." Late as usual.

She ran downstairs, packed her bag full of her lunch, a drink, her phone charger and a pen. All the important things you need for a day of media college work.
Grabbed her black and white vans and shoved them on making sure to tie them throughly Then she ran out the door and started to make her way to the bus stop.

She plugged her headphones into her phone and loaded up Spotify and clicked the song 'Wires' by The Neighbourhood.

'We talked about making it I'm sorry that you never made it'

She started thinking about how it's going to be different this year. There's going to be an empty space between her and Charlie. But least she has Charlie her college buddy.

'It pains me just to hear you have to say it'

But SHE isn't there and she's never coming back. Emily thinks.

'Sick of screaming let us in'

The bus arrives and with that Emily gets on and sits for her 45 minute bus drive to college. Of couse she is going to be 20 minutes late as always.

'I just pray the wires aren't coming'.

Later On
Emily is in class working on a Script for a film she has to produce as part of her Unit. Her and Charlie are talking and its almost dinner time.
11:54am.
"Let's make a film where you go psychotic and try to kill me but I get you help in the end." Charlie suggests.
"Yeah okay. I'm sure I can play crazy well.. I've had good practice." Emily laughs.
"What did you do for the whole six months? Did you go out at the end of quarantine I know that was only a month ago but did you have any summer plans?" Charlie asks.

Emily shuffles uncomfortably looking away from Charlie.
"Um no I didn't go out. Not really. This is my first proper day out and I never had any summer plans."
"That sucks, you must of went bat shit crazy" Charlie laughs.
"You have no idea" Emily laughs to hide the pain behind her eyes.

11:58am.
"I have never heard from Tori since. Did she just not want to come back here?" Charlie asks.

There it was. There was the moment Emily stopped in her tracks, any work or movements she was doing paused. Hearing that name again after so long..

"Emily" Charlie calls. As Emily snaps out of shock.
"I.. I don't know. I never heard from her again either" Emily stutters.
Charlie looks up at Emily. "But you two were really close. You used to talk every day.. what happened?"
"She never came back that's all. She never spoke to me again." Emily said.

Charlie pulled out her phone and began typing. "Did it end bad? Because I wasn't supposed to tell you this but.."
Charlie was stopped in her tracks by a knock at the classroom door.
12:00pm.
"Everyone go for lunch" the teacher called. On his way out he opened the door and he was greeted with a familiar face, familiar yet different. A face that has never been seen in 122 days.

"I wasn't allowed to tell you that this morning I had been in contact with her. She wanted to keep it a secret that she was going to pop in to talk to you." Charlie finished.

But it was too late. Charlie's words were basically inaudible to Emily. Emily saw that face, that smirk that she knew but this time she didn't smile when she saw it. She just looked blankly at the one who broke her heart.

Tori walked into the class without a word for a moment. She took her eyes off Emily and started looking around the room.
Emily knew this wasn't going to end well. She was going to loose her mind again.

The End Of Chapter 1.

{Notes}
Next will be a lot of angst. Mental health break downs. This is half written from my own personal experience and half written as fiction from my imagination.
