Chapter nine

Y/n snuggle next to Blake who was awake and petting the top of his head like a cat. Blake looked over to Weiss who was fast asleep. Blake felt y/n shuffle and roll over to the edge of the bed stopping 3 whole inches from the edge. Blake rolled over slipped off to sleep.

Cinder chuckled as Emerald and Mercury butchered the two team members of team coffee. Both of her underlings where well trained but they still had much to learn. The festival was in full swing and everything was going to plan.

Y/n: "Jeez this is brutal"

Cinder looked behind her and saw y/n sitting alone looking at the battle in pity for the ones getting their asses kicked. Cinder looked forward putting up a mental shield in case he decided to do some probing. One day soon I'll end that boy I'll drive a blade through his heart, cinder thought darkly.

Qrow took a swig from his flask as he watched y/n deflect a bullet aimed at his head. Just like his old man...to bad he banged that crazy bitch, Qrow mused as he strode out of the room giving Glynda a nod before leaving. Emerald watched from the side studying y/n's strikes and block's each one different from the last, no fighter she had seen kept it fresh for this long. The lightsaber shimmered as y/n swung it to deflect another shot aimed at him, the metal bullet splintered into melted pieces and gently landed on the ground. Another shot rang and stopped with in the barrel the inertia wearing down to nothing, y/n let the bullet go and it settled in the long tube. Y/n wiped the sweat building up on his forehead and closed down his saber. Glynda with a touch of a button powered down the turret, she clapped at his improvement in offensive and defensive sword play.

Glynda: "you've improved greatly but, there's still more to learn"

Y/n: "Yeah, thank you professor I'll be around"

An odd choice of words, Glynda mused. She dismissed him and he left with emerald in toe.

Glynda: "those two have become surprisingly close...best to keep an eye on her"

Adam cursed aloud once he read the message from an agent he had sent to check up on the ones sent to kidnap a human for the person above Cinder. They were dead one by a bullet to the back and the other two by the target and a friend.

Adam: "Dammed human is stronger than I anticipated. best to deal with him during the fall..."

Adam grabbed his sword/shotgun combo and exited the tent.

Y/n weakly staggered through the crowd which was running out of the arena where his teammate Ruby was along with nora, Jaune, and ren. Once through he saw a giant Bird like grimm breaking through the engery shield courtesy of Atlas. The whole arena rocked knocking Y/n into the wall knocking the wind out of him. He  felt dizzy, taking a few breaths the dizzy feeling faded after a minute. Y/n    stood and saw the massive grimm was  already dead. Fuck!, y/n cursed himself for his moment of weakness.

Y/n watched Ruby speed back to the arena wondering what she had in mind.

Sun: "Is everyone I know crazy!!"

Neptune: "Have you met us!?"

Y/n lightly chuckled and readyed his saber.

Y/n had a cut just above his eye as he slashed a grimm through the neck killing it. He marched towards Ozpins office sensing pure evil on top of it with pure good. He entered the base of the structure seeing the ellavator was gone and the frame of the door was fubar. He saw a latter inside across the gap. Y/n threw himself onto the latter and started climbing two pegs at a time. He was one meter from  the gap to ozpins office sweat drenched his clothes as he breathed heavily.

Ruby: "Pyrrha!!!!"

A blinding white light bathed everything nearly blinding Y/n completely. Once the light disappeared y/n used his power to Jump through the gap, He saw Cinder fall standing over Ruby with a Blade raised ready to strike. Y/n in a blur drew his saber and blocked Cinders blade. Cinder looked at Y/n in shock but that quickly shifted to anger. She swung at Y/n who parried the swing. Y/n took a defensive stance ready for what's to come.

Cinder: "I've waited a long time for this...the circle is now complete...your not gonna steel what I have worked so hard for once my blade finds its mark you will cease to exist"

Y/n: "If you strike me down I shall become more powerful than you can possibly imagine...cinder"

Cinder was unnerved by those words. Are those words true? How powerful is he?, Cinder asked herself but she held no answer. Y/n swung at her arm which she blocked. She back pedaled and saw her blade was cut halfway through, she formed a new blade from flames to combat the saber. Cinder launched a fireball at Y/n who out stretched his hand and slammed into his Palm leaving no marks. Cinder was enraged by this he was more powerful than emerald had predicted. Cinder charged at Y/n swinging at his head. Y/n leaned back dodging the blade, he swung his blade  at her right arm It cut through like butter making her scream in agony. In  pure hatred she threw lightning at him sending Y/n flying landing next to  Ruby. Y/n's balde rolled over the edge plummeting to the ground. Y/n groaned in pain as Cinder stood over him with fire in her eyes. She kicked him in the gut flipping him over onto his back. She raised her blade ready to strike. Y/n began grabbing for anything he could use as his fear peeked. His hand found something and in an quick movement he swung the object. Cinder felt her eye bleed as  she staggered backwards holding her wound with her only hand. She screamed in pain and staggered further backwards, her foot caught a piece of debris and feel backwards down the ellavator shaft.

Cinder: "Nooooooo!!!!!"

Her voice soon faded and Y/n blacked out.

Qrow sat at the table with Ozpin's cane and what was left of Edward's weapon which had been passed on to Y/n laid infront of him. The critical parts were intact but the outer shell was destroyed. Y/n was upstairs with Ruby who had been through one of the worst experiences in her entire life. Y/n was shocked quite litteraly and was still weak from the battle with Cinder fall and finding out that Blake and Weiss were gone was a horrible thing to feel. Qrow took a sip and Saw and Y/n and Tai enter the room. Tai helped Y/n to the chair and moved to lean against the wall.

Qrow: "shouldn't you be in bed"

Y/n glared at Qrow who wasn't fased by it.

Y/n: "where's Ozpin?"

Qrow let out a weak sigh, he had expected this.

Qrow: "Reincarnated most likely...god knows where he'll end up"

Y/n's expression didn't change instead it worsened.

Y/n: "I sense Cinder is alive she's more dangerous than last time you faced her...were equal"

Qrow: "well shit that's gonna put a damper on things"

Tai: "You two can do whatever you want just live my girls outta this...understand"

Y/n: "Crystal clear"

Qrow: "Whatever"

Unbeknownst to any of them Ruby rose spyed from the stairs as she took in what Y/n and Qrow were saying.

End chapter 9:14 pm
