"You look exquisite Elena," Elijah said while he and Rebekah were waiting for their cue to walk down the aisle.
"Elena you look very beautiful, now let's get you down the aisle shall we," Klaus said with a smile while Caroline took his arm waiting their turn to walk down. Elena smiled at both her soon to be brothers-in-law as the music started.
Elena waited for Jeremy to come back up the aisle to walk her down, it was then she realized she in a matter of minutes would be a Mikaelson. Now she was nervous and hoped she didn't trip walking up the aisle, or Damon making a scene.
"You are beautiful Elena, I wish mom and dad could see you right now" Jeremy whispered close to her ear as she took his arm.
"I wish they could too" she whispered back holding back tears as not to ruin her makeup.
"Ready?" he asked, finding it hard to believe he was giving a vampire permission to marry his sister. Yet knowing Kol was going to be a cool brother in law and a wonderful husband to Elena.
"As I'll ever be," Elena said as they started down the aisle, looking at her soon to be husband.
Kol couldn't take his eyes off her, the wedding dress hugging her in all the right places. For months he imagined this day and how beautiful she was going to look. As he watched her walk towards him, he smiled at her and she smiled back as if they were the only two in the room. She was what he had waited his whole life for, and soon she was going to be his wife.
Damon held his breath as he caught sight of her, wishing they were still together and that it was him she was walking down the aisle to smiling that way. He felt a calm he hadn't felt before, maybe it was due to the fact he finally got a glimpse of the real Elena Gilbert in pure happiness that it seemed to radiate off her touching everyone in the room or for once he didn't feel selfish but happy he got to share in this special day.
Stefan was tense, hoping Damon didn't make a scene. As Elena and Jeremy walked past, he relaxed, silently thanking his brother for keeping his word. They both watched as Jeremy stepped away from his sister and Kol take his place. Soon she would be one of them...a Mikaelson. For that, he was thankful because they protected their own.
"We are all gathered here today to celebrate the union of Kol Mikaelson and Elena Gilbert, they have opted to say their own vows, Elena," the pastor said with a smile.
"Kol, you and I weren't always a bed of roses. Somehow, someway our paths crossed right when they needed to...so we could save each other. You have shown me, love, I never thought was possible, you protect me, you make me laugh, and my world is brighter with you in it. You are my knight in shining armor that I have waited for my whole life. I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with you" Elena said trying not to cry while looking at her soon to be husband as she slipped the wedding ring onto his finger.
"Elena, I never thought I would see this day...you and me standing here together. You were the missing piece I have searched for my whole life, you are my best friend and mostly you are my world. You are the best thing that has ever happened to me and I plan on showing you the rest of our lives together. You have brought me joy, laughter, and your unconditional love, I can't wait to call you my wife" Kol said looking into Elena's eyes before putting the wedding ring on her finger.
"Kol you may kiss your bride" the pastor beamed.
Kol smiled at Elena and she smiled back as he leaned down to kiss her. He had started to deepen the kiss until the pastor had jokingly cleared his throat making everyone in the room laugh. He leaned back chuckling as Elena turned a slight shade of red as she giggled.
"By the power vested in me, I pronounce you husband and wife," the pastor said, making their family and friends cheer for the couple. As the happy couple made their way back down the aisle with the groomsmen and bridesmaids trailing behind.
Next chapter coming soon, I promise 😊
