"Have you thought about this? Us?" A nod.

"And?" She let go of her.

"And... I still don't know," she sighed. "Why? I mean... don't you trust me?" "I do, it's just..."

"What? I've never cheated on you and I will never cheat on you. I can't even look at another woman. Why is it so hard for you to trust me?"

She looked down at their joined hands. The familiar touch warmed her heart. "I don't know."

A deep breath. "Tell me what to do."

She looked up and saw sadness and fear.

"Tell me what I can do to make you feel safe, to make you trust me." She shook her head. "I don't know."

"What do you know then?!" She raised her voice in frustration, letting go of her hand.
