Chapter 5~Enter Lucas

-Kara's POV-

It was weird. Not at all like how my parents explained it to me.They said it was like something shocked you. Well, considering I don't know how a shock feels... In Elementary school, we learned about static electricity. Could this be that? I don't know, this felt absolutly heavenly. Like a caress.

During this time I was just standing there rigidly in the middle of the hallway. The bell would be ringing any second now. Who am I kidding? I more than likely imagined it. Stop with the delusions, Kara. I scolded myself mentally. I'd better get to class.

My legs unlocked and I managed to slip into homeroom milliseconds before the bell. Everyone else was already seated and heads turned to observe my arrival. Feeling self concious, I ducked my head forgetting that I had tied my hair up. I was suddenly regretting my actions. Now I felt all exoposed to the judging stares coming from around the room.

Standing up front near the whiteboard was Mr. Walsh with a kid I've never seen before. Inferring that he was the new kid, I quickly looked him over as I sat down at my desk. He was unbelievably handsome. Wind-swept dark bronze hair, golden/honey colored eyes, a great jaw line and muscles. I think I drooled a little bit.

Mr. Walsh cleared his throat, effectively silencing the sluts giggling and whispering in the back corner.

I have a pretty good idea of what they are gossiping about.

"Class, this is our new student. Why don't you tell us some stuff about yourself?"

The new boy smirked at the girls making dreamy faces at him. For some reason, this got me pissed. Which surprised me. I never get pissed. Even when whores are flirting with greek gods that I could just pounce on... Where did that come from?

"I'm Lucas Ferguson." What are the odds? We have the same last name. A couple of kids glanced my way and chuckled. Stupid kids. I didn't know that they knew my surname. "I play ice hockey, and I know how to have a good time." He winked at the ladies. It would be awkward if he winked at the guys.

Mr. Walsh looked like he suddenly regretted asking Lucas to introduce himself. "Alright, well, Kara here will be showing you around school." He motioned for me to come up. I slung my backpack over my shoulder seeing as I wouldn't be coming back to this class today and trudged forward, ignoring the envious glares. Lucas scanned my body and I hugged myself with my arms. A smile played by his lips when he noticed my action. Realizing that doing so would seem self concious, I forced my arm to unwind themselved from my body. The teacher shooed us out of the classroom and began to instruct my peers. Suckers.

"Call me Luke." I looked up to see him grinning at me. Again, I was startled at how handsome he was. And how he looked like he knew it. Seems like I wasted my time getting dressed up. The cocky arrogant bastards weren't worth it.

"Kara." I muttered and set off to randomly walk around the school. Lucas had to run to catch up with me. He appeared to be in shock from me not falling to my knees at his feet. Ha.

"Well, someone has a problem." His smirk was back now and he poked my shoulder.

I stopped short and nearly passed out for the second time that morning.
