"I like you, Blaire," the words are ringing in my ears. I can't think straight. He's waiting for me to say something. But what should I say? I'm too speechless. Normally, I would jump up and down because this is what I've been waiting for him to say to me.
I bit my lower lip, swallowed hard, and cleared my throat. "Thank you River," was all I managed to say.
"I'm really sorry if I surprised you like this—"
"N-no, you didn't," I jumped in.
He smiled at me. "I don't want your answer right now, alright? So just chill down and I don't want you to mention this to Janna. Ok?" He said softly and gently as he brushed few strands of my hair behind my ear.
I nodded like a puppy that has been given a pat on the head. "Is this all?" I asked.
"Pretty much, now let me take you home," he smiled and lead me to my house.
~Clyde Williams~
Damn, that dude had done it. He told her. And it's my time to stop. My time to stop hanging out with Blaire. I knew this would happen sooner or later but I just didn't have time to prepare.

"Mom! I'm home," I shouted as I took off my jacket and placed it in our coat hanger.
"Oh hi honey," Mom came out in the hallway with her airpron on as she hugged me and kissed me on the forehead. "Better get change and let's have our dinner!"
---
"Why're you quiet?" Mom's first sentence to me on the dining table.
"I'm always quiet," I muttered, not daring to look up from my half eaten meat loaf.
"But I think something's bothering you," Mom replied. "Tell me."
I let my eyes scan my plate. The green peas from my fried rice are pushed aside. My meat loaf is getting a little dry. Then my eyes found mom's. "He confessed his feelings to me."
"Who? Clyde?" Mom exclaimed, hearing the excitement in her voice.
"No!!!" I felt myself grow a little warmer. "Not him. It was River."
"Ooo! Good for you!" Mom squealed. She hasn't acted like this jumpy for a long time. What in the world is happening to her? "How did he say it? What did he do? Tell me every single detail!"
"Mom, not here," I eyed Dad who had finally looked up from his mug and Will who is vigorously biting his meat loaf.
"Ok, ok!" Mom nodded.
--
After dinner, as I've promised, I told Mom everything. It was not much but she couldn't control her excitement.
"Finally, after years of crushing on him!" Mom said.
"Yeah," I replied, hoping this wasn't a dream and that wishing I am not imagining this because until now, I still can't believe it.
"But why do you look sad?"
"Maybe it's because I don't know how to deal with our friendship. And I still can't believe this is all true," I said sadly. I still haven't told her about Janna yet. Not now.
"Just be yourself, honey," Mom advised.
"Wow. How could I not think of that?" I said sarcastically. "It won't be the same anymore, now that I know we have same feelings towards each other."
