I amble down the amber of the yellow brick road,
In search of ambrosia & marmalade skies,
In search of a gingerbread abode,
A happy home I'll recognize.Could you lift me to my frantic, feeble feet,
Or could you hold my hand
And walk beside me on this winding street
In this lonely land?I fill myself with dizzy dervish dreams
And dandelions, dismissed as just weeds.
I let out soundless screams
And blow wishes with the seeds. In all my many years of days,
I've had just one lucky clover chance
To harness the happiness of love's mellow haze,
A single glimmering glance.Once upon a time, there was a happily ever after.
Ever so brightly, away it burned,
And left my life with the bitterest laughter,
But I must believe it will return.
