Hajime dragged his feet as he made his way to the hotel's restaurant. Mahiru and Sonia announced an "urgent meeting" there regarding the new motive Monokuma had set up - that video game. Hajime didn't even want to think about it.

Upon his arrival at the restaurant, he noticed everyone was already there, besides Nagito of course, as he was tied up in that abandoned building next to the hotel.

"Oh good, everyone's here! Now then, let's get straight to the point!" Mahiru spoke loudly.

"Pay heed everyone!" Sonia added as she set her hands on her hips, her tone serious and powerful. Hajime could practically smell Souda swooning.

"So, as we've all seen, Monokuma has set a new motive for us. Sonia and I were discussing ways to prevent another murder from occurring, so we've come to this conclusion. From now on, we'll all be sleeping in pairs! To avoid a nighttime murder, and to make sure no one sneaks off alone to play that game. We won't be accepting any complaints or refusals! Get into pairs!"

"This is fuckin' stupid.." Fuyuhiko muttered.

After a short argument between Mahiru and Fuyuhiko, people began splitting into pairs. Hajime watched, not really caring who he got stuck with. He rolled his eyes at Souda, who was desperately trying to be paired with Sonia, to no prevail.
After a couple of minutes, everyone had a partner, everyone besides Hajime of course.

"Well Hinata, I guess that leaves you with Komaeda-"
That completely caught him off guard.
"K-Komaeda-?! But he's dangerous, isn't he??" Hajime questioned, beginning to regret not picking someone at the start.

"Well, yeah, exactly- We can't just leave him alone— Besides, I personally think that Hinata can handle him better than any of us." Mahiru responded with an apologetic tone. The rest nodded in agreement.

"Gee, thanks.." Hajime sighed. "Maybe my talent is the Ultimate Unlucky Student.."

"Aw, cheer up Hinata! I'm sure it won't be that bad—" Kazuichi attempted to cheer him up. "Besides, you can just leave him all tied up and have him sleep on the floor- it's like he's not even there!"

Hajime sighed. "Thanks for trying to cheer me up, I guess."

As everyone dispersed for the night in pairs, Hajime made his way to the wooden building, walking to where Nagito was kept. When he pushed open the doors, Nagito's head piqued and turned to look at the entrance.
"What brings you here Hinata? I already received my dinner earlier—"

"Come on, we're going." Hajime responded flatly, untying the ropes that were connected to the table, he kept the ropes around Nagito's wrists where they were. Hajime gripped onto the rope, leading Nagito as if he were an animal.

On the way to his cottage, Hajime explained the situation to Nagito, who listened intently.
"That's an interesting solution." He responded, looking around Hajime's room once they entered.
Hajime looked around as well, pausing before tying the ropes to the table in the corner of the room, to make sure Nagito wouldn't escape.
"You guys really are convinced that I'm going to kill someone.. I suppose you're not wrong though, it's all for the sake of hope.." Nagito rambled on with that creepy expression on his face. Hajime was not excited to spend the night with a potential murderer.
