I stayed with lady Rhea during the mock battle. After the battle brother went to grab a bite and spend time with his students. I went with lady Rhea again to see if she could tell me anything else about the story of Seiros. I walked up to her room and I didn't find her. I didn't want to stay out in fear of Layla so I tried to go to my room.
Dimitri POV: "Professor, is Rin not joining us in the celebration?" "No, she wanted to talk to lady Rhea." Layla grabbed my arm "Aww, Rin isn't going to be here. That's too bad." she had a smirk on her face. "M-maybe someone should check on her" I moved my arm away from her.  Mercedes and Annette stopped me before I could go find Rin. I saw Layla slip out. I started wondering where was she going. "Can you give this to Rin?" Mercedes handed me a bag of cookies. "And this is for you, Dimitri." Annette grab me another bag of cookies. "Thank you." I ran to find Rin when I hear yelling nearby. I ran to see Layla and her friends yelling and laughing at Rin. Rin was on the floor bruised and crying. Rage, that's all I could feel. "Stop it!" Rin cried. "You took Dimitri away from me. You took everything away from me. I hate you." She kicked her side. I couldn't just stand there and do nothing. I ran to block
Layla next hit. "Leave her alone." "Dimitri, you are supposed to be supporting me. Helping me. Do I mean nothing to you?" I was quiet. I picked up Rin taking her to professor Manuela. Why did I say something? I should of. Rin, I'm sorry for everything.  I can't lose her. "Professor Manuela! Rin is hurt!" "Let me see" I put Rin down on the bed. Professor Manuela looked over her and started to heal her up. "She going to be fine. She just needs a little rest. What happened to her by the way?" "She got beat up" "Oh goodness, by who?" "Layla," I said that quietly. "I'll have to tell Lady Rhea about this." "I'll stay with her for a while longer." She walked away. "I'm so sorry, Rin. This shouldn't have happened" I grabbed her hand. Holding it tightly. Byleth ran in. "Why didn't you protect her!?" "I'm sorry, I didn't make it in time." I looked down. He sat next to her. "Why do you care?" I looked up at him. "WHY DO YOU CARE ABOUT HER?! YOU HAVE A GIRL OF YOUR OWN. SO WHY DON'T YOU LEAVE AND COMFORT HER?" "I...I care about Rin." I saw Rin grab her brother's arm. "Brother... it's not his fault." Rin gave a sweet smile. I sat beside her and held her other hand. Something about her smile made me happy. I smiled at her. Byleth looked at me. "I'm sorry. I just didn't want her to get hurt." "It's fine, professor" We let Rin rest. Before I left I kissed her hand. What's wrong with me? Do I love her or is she just a friend? "Dimitri?" "What is it, Professor?" "You really care about my sister, don't you?" "Yes, professor" "You know, you can't fool father. Every time he saw you he would notice the way you look at her. He would say that it was the same way he looked at our mother. Be careful with her. If you hurt her then I'll break you." "Noted" Both of us laughed.  I walked to my room when Layla grabbed my arm. "She bullied me first. I was just protecting myself." She cried. "Layla, I hear everything. Can you stop playing the victim? I'm getting sick of you doing this to everyone. Now you have gone far enough to beat someone just because they are my friend." B-but, SHE TOOK YOU AWAY FROM ME" "And? What if I love her? What if I don't want her to be hurt? Can you just stop hurting everyone I care about?" I was pissed off. I was ready to hit her. I needed to calm down. "Dimitri, you've changed" she stared at me like I was beast. I wonder if Rin would think the same. Can she care for a beast? I looked down and smiled. No, it's going to be fine. She'll still care about me at least as a friend...  Layla ran off but I didn't care. I'm going to make a plan to break off the engagement. I'm sorry step-mother, I just can't.
