A sigh escapes from my lips as the faint sound of harry styles, adore you plays from my purse.

I unzip it quickly, pulling out my phone to look at the caller ID. I turn the phone around so that Ariana could see as well.

"It's my dad again. Should I just answer?" I ask, looking at her with pleading eyes.

"Ooh fine, you big baby. There goes our last big night in the city," She says, referring to nyc of course. I promised her we'd go one last time before I move, which is in a few hours really.

"Relax, he'll be cool.." I say, praying that I was right as I clicked the accept button.

"Heyy, dad!" I say casually, putting him on speaker so that the both of us could hear him.

"Hey jules, you at Ariana's house yet? You know we leave in the morning," He says.

"Uhh, ye-"

"Heyy Mr. Andrews! She's safe with me, I swear." Ariana says, a sly grin on her face in the process.

"Ooh, I bet," my dad says and the two of us laugh considering the circumstances.

"Stay outta trouble for me, will ya? Tomorrow's a really big day, okay?" He says.

"Yeah yeah yeah, I know dad.. you don't got to remind me." I say, rolling my eyes at his need for constant reassurance.

"Okay, well-"

"42nd street!" the cab driver talks over him and I fumble with the phone in my hand.

"What was that?!" He asks.

"Hey dad, I gotta go! Love you, bye!"

"Jul-"

I hang up before he could finish his sentence, sending Ariana a wide-eyed look.

"Let's go," I say, opening the car door to get out. She followed behind me as I leaned onto the passengers window to give the driver a tip.

"Ten dollars since you ratted us out," I joke, handing him the money that was folded between my pointer and middle finger.

"Thank you, have a nice night!" I say with a smile as he drove off. I then turned to face Ariana, who was already in awe of the city.

"We could've totally used that money for food y'know?" She says as we began to walk down the street.

"Yeahh, I know." I say, grabbing her hand to follow me. We walked through the crowded streets, pushing, shoving and doing a whole lot of squeezing in between the people.
