Fear

Part 6

They came back a couple of hours later saying they found us a flat not far from Ivy's school and we could move in today. So, we got the address and once we were finished, we headed over.

The flat was small when you walked in the lounge room and the kitchen were the first thing you walked into and down the hallway there was a bathroom and two bedrooms, the kitchen had a back door into a small yard. One bedroom had a double bed and two cupboards, the other one had a single bed and a toddler bed as well as two small cupboards and a small toybox.

"That is were you girls will sleep." Layla tells the girls "Ivy can you help Delilah to put her clothes away please?"

Ivy nods and grabs Delilah and hers bags before running of to their room with Delilah hot on her heals. Layla turns to face me grabs my hand, our bag in her other hand and pulls me into our room, throwing our stuff onto the bed I kisses her softly before pulling away, she smiles up at me.

"This is our house now, no more sleepovers at daddy's the girls get to know what a normal house is like." Layla whispers her face inches from mine

"no parents watching our every move, judging us on our parenting this is going to be great." I say just as Ivy and Delilah come running in

"we're hungry when is dinner?" Ivy says stopping right at our feet with her hands on her hips

"Yeah when we have food?" Delilah says mimicking her sister

Layla and I laugh "soon girls I am just about to order pizza." Layla says walking to get her phone from the kitchen

"Have you girls put away everything?" I ask them, they nod "okay show me." I tell them and we go to look at their room. Delilah's bunny was neatly placed on her bed the same with Ivy's teddy, the rest of their toys in the toybox and their clothes were shoved in their cupboards.

"Close enough girls, now let's go see mama." I say picking Delilah up and taking Ivy's hand before we walk into the kitchen, Layla was on the phone with the pizza place ordering dinner, so I took the girls to the lounge room and put on cartoons.

When Layla finishes, we curl up on the lounge with the girls waiting for pizza, a knock at the door means it's here and I get up and pay before bringing it back to the kitchen. After dinner I give Ivy bath and Layla puts Delilah to bed, when Ivy gets out of the bath we all curl up to watch a movie before Ivy has to go to bed, when the movie finishes Ivy and Layla are both sleeping, so I pick Ivy up first and take her to bed but when I lay her down she wakes up.

"Daddy sing please." She says and I nod my head and start singing her 'My Little Girl' by Tim McGraw

When I finish I go see if Layla is still on the lounge which she is so I pick her up and take her to bed with me, I lay us down thinking how much my life has changed in the last twenty-four hours but I wouldn't change it for a thing.
