Kace felt the arrows of the Noxian archers' whiz by his head, way too close for comfort. He had been clumsy in his escape. He panted, blood trickling down his arm as he clutched to a hand to his side as he pushed his legs harder and faster. He knew very well that one slip-up would send him straight to the Noxian high-command and his inevitable death. Kace betrayed his army and ran away from the ranks after witnessing the cruelty and bloodshed first-hand by his nation; he could no longer bear the unnecessary, barbaric ways of his people. Of course, the Noxian general which commanded his army realized his absence and sent out troops to hunt him down. Betrayal and desertion of one's rank are seen as a weakness in Noxus and weakness was never tolerated.

Kace lets out a grunt of pain as he felt an arrow embed itself within his shoulder, the sharp head tearing through his flesh and exiting cleanly through the front. It left an entry wound and an exit wound which oozed of blood. He had abandoned his Noxian armor for faster travel and felt a stab of regret.

Damn, that one really hurt... Kace internally said, face contorting in a grim scowl. He made a few swift turns, crashed through some bushes, bounded over fallen trees, and even swam across a river. Though he kept up his fast pace the well-trained Noxian soldiers did too and were slowly catching up as Kace's injuries whittled at his speed; he knew he couldn't run for much longer. Kace reached into a small pouch on his belt and pulled out a small smoke bomb, praying that it would work despite being drenched from his previous dip in the water.

Kace spun on his heel, dodging a few arrows and throwing knives, he hucked the small sphere at his pursuers. There was a small pause before the bomb explodes in a blanket of grey and silver smoke, blinding the soldiers sight long enough for Kace to take off once again. This stopped all but one guard who was fast enough to dodge the smoke and continue the pursuit.

Kace felt his muscles scream in protest as he kept pace. There was also the burning sensation of his wounds, which at this point was almost unbearable.
Just a little bit further... Kace persevered, knowing the shore was close by. He crashed onto the beach, making his way over to the ocean. Kace saw a soldier docking his boat and without hesitation, he threw the man overboard, pushing the boat as he jumped in, the momentum thrusted the wooden frame out to the rolling waves and away from Noxus, Kace peered over the side watching the last soldier who was chasing him become smaller and smaller on the sandy beach until he was nothing but a speck on the horizon.

The gentle thud of the boat hitting land woke Kace, he steps off the boat and onto the soft, beige sand which he landed on. He glanced back at the small boat which he stole off the shore of Noxus. The crystal waves lapped at his ankles as he dragged the boat ashore.

"Where am I?" Kace wondered aloud as he glanced past the ocean. He squinted as he looked across the shimmering ocean to the land which he came from. "Ionia..." he murmured as realization slapped him across the face, taking any shred of sleepiness that he had. Kace only managed to think so much before the silence was interrupted.

"Hands in the air and turn around slowly." A voice booms as armored feet stomped their way around Kace, encircling him.

Kace did as he was told, turning around ever so slowly, hands above his head.

"He's a Noxian!" Kace heard the same man growl as he faced them. His torn shirt which bore the Noxian soldier emblem gave him away.

"I mean no harm I-" Kace was instantly cut off by one of the younger Ionian guards, the butt of the spear which the guard wielded wacks Kace across the jaw, whipping his head back.
