Dianely's point of view
"I don't understand the need to dress so formally just to have dinner with your brother," I said as Belladonna searched through her closet.
"Dinner is always a formal event, you should be aware of this by now," she called out. "Furthermore, Ezekiel will not be the only other being attending. Bain, as well as some of my other head guards and attendants, will also be joining."
I sighed.
It was going to take time to get back in the swing of things. 'Things' meaning the royal lifestyle. The switch was anything but easy. I'm independent. I'm wild. The mandatory dress code has always been strange to me. Especially, it just being dinner with the same, what, five people I see every day.
"Ah, here," Bell announced while tossing an article of clothing to me. "Put that on."
I examined the long dress.
"Do you not like it?" She asked.
My eyes shot back up to her.
"What? No, I like it," I responded.
She hummed in response and turned back to the closet to find something for herself.
It obviously wasn't the first time she's dressed me, but her taste in clothing was very different from mine. She's more elegant and promiscuous. I'm more comfy and casual.
I slipped the dark blue garment on anyway and walked over to the tall mirror against the east wall. It hugged my body nicely, but of course, was once again way too low cut for my liking.
"You got anything that doesn't risk a nip slip?" I asked.
Belladonna walked out in a white pantsuit. It was different seeing her in something like this. Normally it was a formal dress like mine or at least a jumpsuit. It was, however, very feminine and fit her like a glove.
"What?" She asked while buttoning the last button on the blazer.
I could help but stand there and look at her for a moment. This was probably the most angelic she's ever looked.
"Distractions lead to downfalls, you know," Bell said snapping me out of my daze.
"Then kill me," I said playfully.
She rolled her eyes unamused at my joke.
I frowned.
It was clear she had changed some since my kidnapping. She wasn't as affectionate. More reserved too. Maybe she's just worried. Soon enough Ambrosia will pop up and realize I am in fact still alive.
"Hey, are you okay?" I asked.
She glanced at me while slipping on her heels.
"Quite fine, thank you for asking," she said with a lack of emotion.
"You know you can talk to me right," I said approaching her. "You just seem kinda off."
Her eyes looked me up and down. She sighed lowly.
"Are you worried about Ambrosia?" I asked.
"Ambrosia doesn't scare me," she replied.
I expected her to continue but she didn't.
"What does scare you?" I asked to continue the conversation.
Her eyes looked up to the ceiling as she thought to herself.
"Spiders," she decided on.
Well, not what I was expecting but good to know I guess.
We finished getting dressed, or I did. Belladonna finished in record time and left me to finish by myself. I twisted my curls around my finger while staring in the mirror. She had me all dolled up as always.
