"Girl, are you really planning a vacay without me?", Cedar asked brushing past me, while I was scrolling down the website of Airbnb on my laptop about two weeks later. I had brought it with me on set, using each and every little break from filming to scan the website for flats in close distance to the studios. I was sitting in the makeup chair of my dressing room, the laptop on my legs, waiting for Cedar to get back from the trailer with the false lashes he needed for Ariel's look. It had been a stressful morning and the information I had received a few hours ago didn't help with the stress.
"Hah, I wish. I'm looking for places to stay here in LA", I explained to him, taking a deep breath full of disappointment. I had left my hotel room that morning as usual to meet the driver who had been taking me to set everyday at the front entrance of the hotel, when someone called my name from behind the front desk. "The receptionist of my hotel let me know this morning that my room has only been booked by Disney until Wednesday. The room is already reserved for someone else after that, so before I'll move from one suite to another, I figured I would just search for flats nearby, but I literally can't find any free ones on such a short notice."
"Well first of all, here in the states you're looking for apartments", he said in a sassy tone, making me roll my eyes. He sat down on his usual seat in front of me and closed my laptop, making me look up, from the screen I had been staring at for minutes without blinking, to him. "And second of all, you can stay with me for a few days or even more, if you want. I've got a spare room you could use. It's small, but It's got a bed and everything. Therefore you'd have some more time and won't end up as the first homeless Hollywood actress"
"Really? That would be amazing!", I said in excitement. I didn't expect him to make this offer, but I knew living with him, even if it were just for a few day would have been such a huge help to me. After all he was still my makeup artist, he didn't have go that extra mile for me and this time, after I had already denied his invitations to one of his legendary parties, I was willing to accept this one, although I was a bit worried he felt forced to help me. "Are you sure you wanna put up with me after we see each other twelve hours a day at work?"
"Duh, of course. It's gonna be like a massive sleepover, that my girl friends parents never allowed me to attend back when I was in highschool because they didn't know I was gay", he said chuckling and I wasn't quite sure if I should laugh or feel bad for him, so I decided to go with a awkward breathing out of the nose kind of laugh. My dad would have been one of those parents, he never allowed me to have basically any contact with the opposite gender. If he only knew about that party.
"Oh my god, thank you so much! You're the best!", I said getting up from my seat to give him a hug. In the big mirror in front of me, I could see that at this exact moment, Harry walked into the room, as usual, to spend his filming break making himself comfortable on my couch, although he did have his own one in his dressing room just one door down the hall. I sat back down and placed the laptop on the vanity, "I'm gonna start packing up my stuff on thursday so I can bring my suitcase on set with me."
"You planning a trip?", Harry said, letting his presence known and I turned around to look at him. As predicted, he sat down on the couch, his feet causally chilling on the coffee table. He was wearing his usual prince Eric outfit that was only topped by his prince hair with his middle parted curls falling into his face so effortlessly, but beautifully. I, for once, was wearing actual clothes, a stunning pink dress, because we had been shooting the scene in which Ariel had her first dinner with Eric and the king. I was glad I could finally walk with my own legs on camera.
"She's getting kicked out of her hotel room", Cedar answered for me, turning my face back into his direction to apply the new pair of lashes he had gotten from the trailer on my eyes. I wanted to roll my eyes at him again, but sadly I couldn't. I mean it was the truth, but it sounded wrong.
